    Raymond,

Excuse the poor-quality cellphone image, but as you can see the rear foglight has returned!

I know you are not a particularly big fan of this component, but at least its in the right place...

And no doubt you've seen this one from @ 27 years ago, showing its distinctive blue dashboard

Hey guys, I am just wondering what is up with the 2 types of QV DD engine covers (with side vents and without)
Also, I heard and I think I have seen 2 types of side skirts, one with 2 louvers and the other with just 1?

    http://www.lambocars.com/images/countach/lp500qv63.jpg

Also, anyone willing to take some measurements for the hump of thier QV for me? PM me if so, thanks :)

I got a scan of the mirrors. Actually got a scan of an entire QV FI thanks to Jet-X.

I received the full history file, books etc. for GLA 12942 from the previous owner yesterday. It is complete back to original owners and the registration plates can date the car quite accurately in the early years.

1/Aug/86 to 8/Dec/87 the car sat on D496FYM (under Earlgate Property owners, Taefi and Lotay)

8/Dec/87 to 9/Aug/88 it sat on LAM608 (the reg. was transferred from a VW Golf Gti by new owner Mr Draper)

9/Aug/88 onwards when Lamborghini London sold the car to Mr. Davey, the car has been on D301POV

That photo looks like round the back of George Street so, given the registration, I would put it at summer '88, or exactly 28 years ago.

Looking at the Kidston website they have listed the red QV (HLA12044) as "Recently sold".

First mentioned as for sale here in July. It really didn't hang around long...

Couple of great quotes from the sales blurb to share

“There just aren’t any logical arguments for buying such a machine: what reasonable human being would want a car that’s so loud, uncomfortable and hard to get into? But, friends, let reasonable people ridicule and ***** – they merely haven’t driven a Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole, haven’t experienced the fascination for themselves.” A Road & Track test of the new car in 1985"

    and in Kidston's own words,

"We can think of no collectors’ motor car which offers better value for money and long-term future prospects – you heard it here first."

Regulars on this thread might agree with that analysis, but will surely feel we actually heard it HERE first, from Mr Sackey!

Hi thanks for that. Did it include the base plate which screws onto the door?

I am not an engineer, but can these scans be sent in some file format which allows them to be loaded onto a 3D lathe and cut?

    Much Appreciated.

i dont know where you get these images from as you seem to know more than I do! lol

On my facebook page I have a few photos and videos of the car on the circuit. i dont know if you can download them and use them on here?

Before the put up the chicane, I was into 3rd and doing about 105 on the back straight. After i was using 2nd and was going flat a copuple of times so doing about 90mph before braking.

    Regards

    Paul

Funny, this car has the same Hifi Setup my GLA12997 had with the additional CD Player and equalizer on top.

By the way, Joe, did you manage to find this Autoradio to re-fit in Miss Chianti? Would be a great addition to the car.

there was a call for more images, well, this car just got a 30 hours detailing inside out with nano pro coating on everything. Pictures cant even start to do justice on the paint.
The paint is original and has just enough patina to not look a redo but mild enough to reflect a 30 year old car. So swirls left!
It is raining bad today but I'll try to get a better picts taker this weekend.

Car will go on a podium presentation car show where Mike Brewer will do a model review for 25 selected cars.
If anything must be said about the countach in front of an audience that he forgets to say, let's hear it.

Gorgeous! I was going to ask if it was original, but you answered my question. I can't believe that's 30 year old paint!

I'm a big fan of Mike. He seems like a genuinely good guy and very passionate about what he does!

Correct, its the only RHD non-skirted DD in Blu Acapulco.

No, the 2 88.5 cars I know did not have the blue dash.

It is indeed a thing of beauty, and together with the blue steering wheel rim, they are a nice touch.

I remember when Ali Taefi (a car connoisseur of impeccable taste and not inconsiderable wealth I might add) would casually park D 496 FYM with two wheels up on the kerb in Maida Vale by the Little Venice canal.

    I would stop and stare...

Still thrilling all these years later.

I am happy to give Mr Kidston the honor of being first to extol the virtues of the car's future values.

So far as he doesn't say he found the FIA Homologation papers first! :D

All the original components are refurbished, working, and being installed as we speak.

In fact all the lighting electricals are being completed also.
