Tasty. Next time, Jdubbya, get some of the old fashioned hard taco shells, like you had in grade school. It'll be a blast!

Tonight was salmon burgers with homemade arbol pepper/tomatillo salsa. Not bad, coulda been spicier. Next time 2x chili peppers! 😀

Not for dinner, but I can't stop making these 'egg cups' for breakfast in the mornings. Simple, relatively healthy, easy to make and even easier to eat.

Pretty close to what Jason has only not as healthy. typically make a dozen at a time, using a dozen eggs, turkey bacon or turkey sausage, whatever veggies I have on deck, a pinch of garlic powder, cracked pepper and sometimes cheese. Bake in a muffin pan @325F for 23-25 minutes. They're a quick snack and keep well in the office fridge for a few days.

Those look yummy. My Mother makes a similar quiche deal that is tasty.

Still doesn't feel like summer here. July was cool temps and mostly cloudy. Haven't had a house full of relatives yet. Usually when we have the quiche deal. Partly due to giving up on repairing the pool liner until September. No pool. Nobody wants to stay with me!

Supposing it will be eaten once or twice in leiu of a sit down dinner, I have bison jerky from flank steak.

It's flavor is a cherry-limeaode/blueberry/ginger. I have to make my own to circumvent getting any pepper and a few other typically added ingredients. The ginger and some home made mustard are my heat replacements. Fruits, honey, mollasses, maple syrup and brown sugar for the sweet. Coconut vinegar, lime juice, and a bit of g/f ketchup for the acid. Coconut aminoes liquid smoke and black and red Hawaiian salts to round it out.

I have a couple hours to dry yet, then a final dab to mop some more of the fat off of them. Yummy.

That looks good. Very interesting flavors.

Are you very sensitive to spice?

Thank you. I sampled a bit and feel I left it in the marinade a bit too long. Texture is slightly toward a cooked side. For the amount of citric acid and vinegar used, a shorter soak would have been fine, for a bit harder chew to the meat.

I can tolerate and enjoy the heat of peppers, but they are one of many food sensitivities I have.

Used to have one of those drying contraptions. Along with my ice cream maker, I regret getting rid of it now. Got rid of both of them for the same reason. When we were living in apartments, they were so dang noisy.

Your stuff looks great streetsurfer. I found that it was always easy to overdo it on salt. How goes the datil pepper project?

    Man, those potatoes look delicious!

A black bean burger and an ear or two of sweet corn for me this evening. One of the best parts of living in the Midwest is the abundance of sweet corn this time of year. There are literally hundreds of ears hauled into my office each week for the taking and it can be had at local grocers for 6/$1.

"The corn is brought in daily from Chilliwack. The price is $5.50 for a half-dozen and $9.50 a dozen."

Man, you guys bring in some bucks from that stuff! We either give it away or sell it for $.17/ea.

Now salmon, thats another story.. :D

Have you tried making it another way? I love corn every once in awhile. Butter it up with some pepper and salt then put it in foil and on the bbq. That or coating it in mayo and parmesan cheese
