Back to black is good, I've tried stuff called Perl as recommended by someone here and found it even better.

Imo

I would wipe with acetone
Then bring in sun and use a preservative and then wipe and repeat
I use mothers protectant.. The best for rubber.

PERL is good, another one is Sonax Gummiplege.

Yep, on line. Perl Carpro. Amazon or auto geek. Follow the instructions and dilute in a spray bottle. I found it did the best job for making the rubber trim look new again and I've tried quite a few similar products

Definitely some good suggestions here but before you attack it with something strong you might try applying lots of Aerospace 303 in hopes that it'll soften the deposits enough to remove them without having to resort to harsh solvents. The reason I'd use 303 is that it'll stay "wet" if you don't buff off the excess, and in this case wet is good.

If that doesn't work I'd first try rubbing alcohol, then denatured alcohol, then brake cleaner, and finally acetone. Use the least aggressive solvent you can.

To make rubber look like new again, to clean it and to put some life back into it I found a product called Gummi Pfedge to work great!

Convertable top is less squeeky, rubber plumps up. Great stuff.
I found a recommendation for this on this site, too.

 

I know the Porsche dealer technicians have been known to use Gummi Pfedge for squeaks, never though of it for dressing bleached out rubber trim. Good to know. If I remember correctly it was a originally a BMW product

 

I've had great success with a degreaser and Leatherique on rubber trim.

It's definitely better known in the German auto market. It's a pretty great product.

Another great (and tried by me) choice for rubber trim and recondition process
is VRP Dressing by Chemical Guys. Also all around great dressing is Natural Look by Poorboy's World.

But, as far as plumping up the trim, making things smooth and quiet Gummi Pledfe is great!

Just tried Gummi for the first time yesterday and man it is awesome! Leaves a nice satin finish and you can tell that the rubber trim really absorbs it.

 

I've been using Griot's Vinyl and Rubber Dressing for years and it works great. No silicone, dries to a satin finish, and it softens any of the rubber items. Griot's products rarely disappoint and they seem to really love cars.

 

Yes - this is correct. I purchased some from my local BMW dealer for my M3 - works great!
