I do not own one but thought this might be a future good reference point for those considering buying one.

A lot of chatter about sound, but it has been hard for me to read through that because 488 owners have been quiet to complain about anything including sound.

Then again, who knows.......maybe this is the only car in the history of the planet where no one can find a single thing wrong with it, or something they don't like about it and in that case it's certainly well deserving of it's rave reviews.

It's not a knock on it.......it's just the first thing I usually ask car owners is 'What don't you like about it?'

I'm not concerned if someone likes the 458 better or if this or that car sounds better........just what YOU as a 488 owner may not especially like on the car. Thanks!

You of course understand that this will, yet again, become another worthless thread complaining about sound issues.

Would have preferred a contribution to the thread.

Fred, modern Ferraris built since 2011-12 have taken a quantum leap forward in reliability, fit and finish, customization options, and quality, so maybe, there is relatively little to gripe about?

Personally, I don't like the 18 month wait for my allocation.

Agreed, but I have a few gripes on my 458 which I mentioned on my similar 458 thread that I started but maybe no one has a single gripe on 488.

Hard to imagine, but certainly I guess is possible.

OK, OK......the car is absolutely perfect and not one person on the planet has anything that they dislike in the least, nor any ideas that Ferrari can change to make it better besides the sound.

I guess Ferrari might as well just fix the sound for those that don't like it and just call it a day and close up shop.

Everyone has all these great ideas about 'Ferrari should do this', and 'Ferrari should do that' and 'I hope they read the board'.

They must be reading the board because there is absolutely nowhere else to go into the future except to fix the sound which they will improve on next go round I'm sure.

Sorry I asked and offended anyone.

Yeah, but he's 100% right. I ask you what the point of the thread is, and I'll answer appropriately.

So, I'll be so bold as to ***** about the one and only negative in my opinion, and it's a biggie and absolutely bizarre. I sure hope Ferrari is reading this.

After having some serious seat time, I still cant believe that the car has a red line of 8000rpm, generates peak horsepower at 8000rpm, and hit the rev limiter at 7500rpm. I've never seen anything like it and can't believe it would be in Ferrari's hot new 488GTB!

    Just crazy, IMO!!!

Other than that, I love, love, love this car!!!!

The 488 has the most responsive/exciting turbo engine i have ever driven, that makes the low rev limit character quite annoying during driving vigorously....

Bingo! Would never notice it 90% of the time. Just when you're tearing through the canyons like I will be tomorrow.

    Ok here it goes:

    1. Sound is actually really good (disagree with others on this)
    2. Don't notice variable rev limit because of the extreme torque
    3. Electronics are the best so far in a Ferrari but they could still be better. Difficult and confusing radio setup for sure
    4. Brakes still squeak at times (improving with wear in)
    5. Hmmm really difficult to come up with any other negatives . The car really is that good. I've owned many exotics and 6 Ferraris and this one is my favorite so far. Believe the hype it really is that good...

The standard seats suck. So uncomfortable. They also sucked in the 458. I hope one day there will be standard seats that are bareable and look somewhat decent.

I've had my 488 spider for about a month and half now and just recently the driver side top right window edge hits the B pillar about 1/3 of the time especially when the top is down. It's already chipped the plastic black glossy trim. I think the door maybe slightly misaligned but that's my only guess. Car was picked up this morning and will post once they have figured it out.
