has anyone put tubi on 488
i have a tubi on my 458 ? sounds pretty good to me. But then again i haven't heard a stock 458 or a 488.
The 458 and 488 are not comparable. The TT V8 of the 488 sounds quite different than the NA 458 engine. That being said, I think the right exhaust definitely makes the 488 sound better overall. I like what Novitec is doing. I think the problem here is that some just don't like the sound of the 488 while some of us do. As far as Tubi goes, rumor has it that quality is far from what it used to be. I'd go Capristo or Novitec with sports cats. Test pipes makes the car stink imo.
Not sure about Tubi as I haven't heard a 488 with Tubi exhaust. But you don't think the Novitec 488 sounds vastly different from the stock 488? In that case and with all due respect Carlo, that's sounds more like personal opinion that fact. Objectively, I'd say the difference is quite noticeable.
+1 It is indeed my opinion, some might prefer the sound generated by the Novitec setup as it does increase volume and high pitch presence but also seems to increase whine so not sure it is worth the expense. Very best
id be shocked it the novitec doesn't sound amazing - tubi has been known to go tame with some models....love their exhausts but novitec has been tough to beat on the most recent models
Anyone have a video? Have not heard the tubi yet. So far the Novitec leads the pack for me if you go aftermarket.
I agree with Steven and even posted on the sound thread few months ago. Novitec is the "so far" best mods for the sound for a 488 IMHO.
Here you can find attached a video from TUBI about 488. The result that can guarantee the NO KAT TUBI version is powerful. I am a TUBI partner, so my opinion can be read as "malicious"... NOVITEC ROSSO is the best tuning brand for Ferrari: they propose trough fantastic marketing and communication activities their concept... style, power... but they never raced; they never developed engine contents based on performance and reliability. They sell their concept, and they do it well. Every brand brings with himself a DNA and specific contents: when you buy TUBI you know that you are buying a product that is racing (and winning) on every GT3 / NGT Ferrari car around the world with no problem. When you buy NOVITEC you know that you are buying the best tuning product on the market. Everyone can make its choice. When it will be available some new clip about TUBI sound solution, I will post it, because we are always speaking about SOUND, and I want to highlight it. https://www.facebook.com/tubistyle/videos/10154608184361477/ https://www.facebook.com/tubistyle/videos/10154624510316477/
The obvious problem with that video is the before is taken outside and after is taken inside so it's not really comparable, especially for low frequency sounds.
My Kia Sorrento sounds amazing too... if you record a video in a small enclosed space full of hard surfaces.
Not a fan. I also think those modes are totally useless and confusing. Gear down mode and sport mode? Really? Just do what IPE and others do....open and closed!
Like the F1 cars, your sound is going to be reduced as it is a turbo engine with a much lower exhaust outlet temperature. Some of the noise generation is the hot exhaust mixing with the cold air, but the gas temp is now lower. Modern aircraft engines are quiet compared to the old ones . Nice car but shame the exhaust note is as it is.
Having been around the Ferrari brand through the 360 to the present, I have seen my dealer change its stance on after market exhausts multiple times. From Tubi conversions on 355s up to the 430 when dealership said FNA would void the warranty AND encouraged them to stop conversions on virtually any car! They changed their tune - no pun intended - with the 458. Apparently Tubi makes the tailpipe for the 458. Whether because of the Ferrari partnership in racing and in making some parts already for the 458, FNA told dealerships - in the US only? - that a Tubi would NOT void the warranty. My dealer then went back to installing them. I cannot comment on Novice vs Tubi sound. I cannot tell you if the 488 warranty will stand as it does for the 458 conversion. I can only say that I would never risk a warranty issue. So before you decide which exhaust to go with, you might want to enquire if you will suffer any violation. Money may not be an issue so my concerns may be unfounded. Just an FYI Best
