308, you are one sick puppy! Hahaha Bas, I've found a sport I can really throw myself into following!
LOLOLO, they almost as hot as Elton..ahh, if only he could play voley those girls wouldn't stand a chance against a goat like him!!
There's a little overtaking and close racing from a couple guys who I assume a few here think can't race...... Dear oh dear, and the cars sound like race cars, with close following and daring passes.
No point me expending any more effort on people who have closed their minds to the obvious. Maybe in ten years time on fchat when Hamilton is revered as a GOAT, the same people will crawl out of the woodwork and say they supported him all along and saw his greatness long ago. That's how a lot of people operate around here. Funny more than anything
Doubt it, you are living in dreamland if you think he's done enough to be revered like schumi or Senna.... He hasn't the stones or the skills
People on FChat will change their tone once he drives for Ferrari. Happened with Alonso and happened with Seb. But frankly that's not that important. The real question is how history will treat him and how people 10 or 20 years from now will look at him and there I am 100% sure he will be seen as one of the Goats. His stats and achievements speak a clear story.
A fickle bunch for sure. Good to see that you are wise, rational and objective. Still don't agree with you on your love for Vettel, he will go down as a great driver for sure but not my cup of tea
One of the sad parts is that you never grasped that whom people support may very well be different to whom they think is fast. Almost everyone agrees he is fast and he is a great racer. Why you need to make him a god is beyond me. This is not ancient greece where we need hundreds of gods.
And to some degree predictable. Chauvinism is so easy to detect. Thanks. There are plenty of folks on here who would disagree. Being more objective than emotional gets easier when you follow the real stats. That's why I keep saying that F1 should not be treated like figure skating. Once you bring in subjective perspectives all bets are off. Hamilton is not my cup of tea either. But I can't argue with his success and results. If you want to see how great Vettel really is, then watch the Monza race where he won in a "Minardi". Rain is the great equalizer and separates the boys from the men. Just look at the drivers who were great in the rain: Senna, Schumacher, Alonso, Vettel and Hamilton PS: Ok, Alesi was great in the rain too but he lacked in selecting the right team at the right time skill.
Ferrari won't ever take him, he's too me me me for them, they want drivers like Vettel who love Ferrari and what it stands for
I have seen it. Masterful drive for sure. I feel that had Hamilton selected the right tyres for qualy he would never have won but certainly not taking anything away from Vettel. I've always felt Vettel is as fast as ham or alonso when given a car that suits his driving style. But I think he is pretty average if the car set up doesn't suit him. Hamilton and alonso are better because they can drive Anything fast. I don't care for the whole rapper thing but Hamilton is my favourite because I find he is the most interesting to watch, fast ans aggressive.
Yes people can support slow drivers that's fine, like Kimi for example. Believe it or not there are a group on here who think Hamilton is not a good driver (Sid for example). That's the part I don't get. I don't think he is a god, but someone who will soon be #1 in poles and #2 in race wins is a top top driver.
I've never said he isn't good, but he definitely isn't the best of this generation, let alone of al time. Don't quote me incorrectly. He isn't a god
Alonso wanted a Ferrari championship, and was versatile and skilled enough that he almost did it, while supplied with a series of crap cars he dragged to results. Elton isn't capable of hard work (such as Baku, couldn't be bothered with the simulator to prepare, and promptly ****ed up), and he is far to into being a legend in his own mind to be a Ferrari driver.
I think Seb can drive the pants off anything too.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHTXYbtXx44 Which of these two guys would be your hero?
So you say it is all about stats and not how they come together because this would be "figure skating"? So with other words you say that winning a race in a 2016 Mercedes F1 is the same achievement as it would be winning in a 2016 Manor because it affect stats in exactly the same way??? I hope for your own sake that you see that this is completely off...
Of course he won't be saying that. There are many other objective statistics that feed into the main performances metrics (race wins, poles, podiums etc). For example, number of races for each driver in a car that won the constructors championship ect are all important and objective statistics. I think the overarching point being made is that all top drivers spend a lot of their career in a top car so it is better just to look at the statistics to determine greatness than wade into the murky waters of subjectivity, opinion and personal preference. Of course I can't speak for him.
