The T-33 was pretty much the universal jet trainer a long time ago. Appropriate for the early, underpowered jets of the late 40s and early 50s.

Interesting, in any case the 575 showed well alongside the plane (T-33)

Clyde- The T-33 is the jet in the left background of your photo. It looks like you are parked next to a De Havilland Chipmunk, another RCAF trainer introduced right after WW-II.

I know nothing about planes Terry, only that the Ferrari looks good next to them :).

How can someone tell it's a T-33 and not an F-80? (I remember building a model of one as a kid).

Just looked on wikipedia and Canadian built versions are STILL IN USE by the Bolivian Air Force!!!

    (I guess I shouldn't be surprised. So are B-52s).

    Damn, I love this silver 575 !
The height, the spacers, like a cowered beast of prey, ready for attack.

Allan- Nearly all the P/F-80s were turned into beer cans except those on sticks or in museums. The T-33/CT-133 lived a much longer service life, especially the Canadair models with the RR engines.

Clyde, the perfect pic would be your stunning car side by side with the polished alumium T33.....

A year ago I visited the Pima Air Museum, I'll never will forget these impressive Jets and hugh military Airplanes of the 50/60th underneath the gleaming Arizona sun.....

    But nice pics anyhow, thanks!

    Saluti,

OMG I LOVE DOGS... well.. and ferraris...

What kind of dog is that? He looks pretty damn happy to be there. I wish my dog could sit still. Mine tries to drive by putting its paws on the steering wheel. Drives me crazy.

Yes, the Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star! When my dad got off duty at the clinic, he would take us to the landing field to see these aircraft in action. My favorite was the Grumman F9F Panther. No doubt that experience served as the impetus for me earning my Private Pilot certificate and ASEL Instrument Rating as an adult. It was fitting that I trained in a Grumman AA-5B Tiger and flew my first long-distance IFR flight from Morristown Municipal Airport (MMU) to that same landing field, now Edenton Municipal Airport (EDE). It was actual IFR on the way back too.

These early jet aircraft were absolutely gorgeous!

    Hey Guys:

Just a friendly observation. I was in Carmel for the festivus motori. Some work related call came in and I found myself looking for a quiet place off of Ocean Ave. on Thursday. I was keeping good company with this 575M in an alley behind Sade's Bar.

I looked the car over, very nice example. The driver's window was down, the key+fob was in the console, I think i saw a wallet and perhaps a phone?

Grand theft Auto is not one of MY aspirations, but there are some that would, and could.

    Cheers

    Mark

Sorry, just testing how to post pics from a mobile device for upcoming Maranello trip.
That's my GTE or, for the purposes of this forum, an early 456 V12 Pininfarina 2+2 prototype ;)
