964 Turbo S lightweight

What in the hell is going on with the interior?

 

It is almost reasonable...

 

The yellow car looks all standard apart form the airbag steering wheel which they say was an option new..

 

It says, it only has 6000 km on the clock. Wanna see a picture of the drivers seat.
I dont understand the estimate for that car.
Should go to London and have a closer Look.

 

The interior looks great except for the steering wheel(the yellow center airbag cover has to go) but that is easy to fix. I love the black interior with the yellow seat belts.

 

I think he's talking about the other car, the "Lobster everywhere car".

These cars are hard to find, but that's still a large sum of money. I'd agree that it's "reasonable" enough, but over $400,000 and I have an issue. The problem is that more and more of these excluzive Porsches are reaching that point, and putting themselves out of the hands of anyone but collectors. It seems that even in the midst of a financial pandora's box, there's something dying in the car world when what grew car guys is gilded as contemporary investment material.

 

Has any one got any idea what the car will sell for at RM auctions?

 

The car in the second link (sold by JZM Porsche Sales) has been sold. I wonder if the interior color looks more red in person than the pinkish hue it appears to be in the photos? Red = Great; while Pink = not so great IMHO.

Wow. Great outcome for the ex owner.

 

Great number, but such a special car.. Yellow is the colour to have as it is the same colour as the one at the Porsche museum in Stuttgart.

 

The Riviera Blue 993 GT2 cleared at 1.9M Pounds - so north of $2.5M. Very heady pricing.

 

More than double the money than the F40

 

Both cars are so super special and the numbers speak for themselves, I was at the auction last night and the atmosphere was electric when these special cars came through..
If anything the 964 looked a bargain compared to the GT2. The 964 Turbos S is basically the GT2 version of the 964.. and built in around the same numbers..

 

The TSL (964) was indeed well bought...only 86 built vs 193 GT2's. I think the turbo-charged Porsche market, specifically the homologation cars like these, are just beginning to get their due in the marketplace. Expect a lot more interest from collectors now.

 

I had a 993 GT2 and a 993 RS at one point, wishing I didn't sell them now.

288 GTO - Enzo money.

 

A lot of money but what a car... Seeing it in the flesh in Riviera Blue.. but agree Joe, my choice would be a GTO..

 

Was that a case of 2 guys fighting for them ( i read the GT2, RS and Turbo S were bought by one guy)? I cant believe that a 993 GT2 is now worth as much as an Enzo or 4 Carrera GTs.

 

Andrew, somebody really wanted those cars, and whilst its good to see cars selling for record prices, remember the old adage: "one sale does not a market make".
