Someone please explain to me how Vettel was able to win all the other races without blown diffusers then? . PdR ''beat him convincingly'' in F3? You seen all the races then? You where surely aware then he had his finger nearly sliced off, yet still raced with it, despite many believing he'd be out for a while? You where also aware he was doing plenty of testing for BMW which amounted to a hugely busy schedule?
Since we're doing pointless comparisons to others in junior series, remember how Hamilton did against Piquet? Despite Hamilton being in -by far- the best GP2 team there is, he very nearly lost the title to Piquet jr, who is mostly known for being completely and utterly useless in F1.
I agree. Could the MODERATOR do something about what is becoming blatant trolling on this forum. One individual in particular is constantly attacking forum members who do not agree with him, hammering the same message again and again. This becomes tiresome, and I suppose is the reason why some long-standing participants have stopped posting in what is otherwise an excellent forum. If people do not take warnings seriously, and refuse to abide by the forum rules, they should accept the consequences. Recently, the members of this forum have been called a "fickle bunch" by the individual who will recognise himself. Dear Moderator, over to you ...
There is always the 'ignore' function i guess, personally i just read what i want to or just move on. When DB4 Tim talks about being one sided i'm not sure which 'side' he refers to ,he could just as easily be talking about the majority of posters ...
Andrew has already explained a few times...He can't ban users for having a different opinion. If you see him offending users, use the report button and a moderator will take action.
You sent me a PM on this subject only 13 minutes prior to this post. You didn't exactly give me much time to investigate or respond, did you? As it happens, toil is very much on the radar. However, I cannot banish him simply because he has an unconventional view on F1. We shall see via his actions whether he intends to converse with amicably or not. If you really cannot abide him, please make use of the ignore feature: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/f1/322606-how-place-someone-ignore.html All the best, Andrew.
Sorry for the repeat, Andrew. I couldn't see my PM being sent. I apologise for the mix-up. To explain myself, I have nothin against people with unconventional views; I have a few of my own! But the persistence in repeating the same message over and over again is rather tedious to say the least, and bordering on trolling I believe. I do use the ignore feature, believe me, but I can see from quoted posts that almost any thread receiving his visit degenerate very quickly. This is an excellent forum, please, do not let a few individuals ruin it. Cheers. William
I admit, the ignore feature isn't a perfect solution. There are technical limitations with the old unsupported vBulletin software. They're will eventually be an upgrade to a new platform, but I don't know when that'll happen or what the new platform will be. Rob's a savvy chap though, he'll look after us. Keeping the site excellent is exactly the core responsibility of every moderator on the site. I promise you, we all take it very seriously. Sincerely, Andrew.
+1 I disagree with you and others at times (and vice versa I'm sure!) but I think we all get on fine, with the exception of one specific user of course.
Thanks. I have nothing against people holding different points of views than mine. That's to be expected on a forum such a this: this is not a chapel after all. I accept that, but when this is repeated again and again to provoke reaction, it becomes short of propaganda. I welcome the opinions of people of all age, from different nationalities, and with different experience of F1, and Ferrari in particular, but constant "barracking" is not conclusive to good exchange.
He is the only one who knows the truth. We all, are plain wrong, but as he wrote, eventually, with the passing of time, we all will see the light. So there is hope for us, light at the end of the tunnel, etc... Rgds
Reminds me a bit of Brian Clough (ex Derby County rip): 'I am not saying i'm the best manager, but i'm in the top 1' (or words to that effect!)
Thing is if anyone still had a doubt, for the past month this forum was actually what it should always have been, a place to discuss diferent opinions without any sort of problems or personal attacks....it's amazing what a single individual can do in just one day....
I suggest all of you have a good look at your postings over the last 2 months (the cumulative time of my bans aside from a few days in the middle). The race threads are basically the foreword for hamiltonsucks.com. A large majority of you make almost EVERY post about him and that's with me not even being on the forum. Check your own posting histories on the race threads if you don't believe me. Then I come back to the forum and two threads have been made and Hamilton is the subject of them so of course I am going to post my view on them, I'm not making posts in every single thread about him. It's about time you all stop with the same old song that anyone who supports Hamilton is obnoxious. My opinions are reasoned and quite reasonable. As I said above, I've seen the state of the f1 threads since I've been gone and it's just vile. Pages and pages bashing on Hamilton - clearly myself and all the other Hamilton fans that are unfortunately no longer with us are not the problem. You all post about him regardless if I'm here or not, but you just prefer it when there are no contrary views, so you can all laugh at him collectively. I remind you this is fchat not hamiltonsucks.com. You'd soon find if you didn't keep talking about him in every thread 24/7 I wouldn't feel the need to inject the threads with my own dose of common sense. I don't personally attack anyone. To those who cannot handle a contrary view point to their own, I invite you to put me on ignore. I won't lose any sleep over it. Furthermore, if you feel Hamilton is talked about too much on this forum simply stop talking about him and you'll see the place will be much more 'peaceful'.
Why are we talking about Hamilton in a "2017 rules / changes" thread? Is Hamilton going to change his hair style for next year or what?
I woke up to two pages of why I should be banned because William didn't like my views on Vettel and reported me for having an opinion. I would much prefer all threads stayed on track and everybody was polite and stayed on topic.
Then are you going to make a start and leave? Or are you going to show us that you have changed, which would be hugely surprising given your track record of avoiding that?
There are other Hamilton fans on here that don't leave nearly as much animosity in their wake as you do. It is possible to be impressed with Hamilton's performances without coming across as obnoxious. Many people don't agree with your logic and you're very condescending when putting forth an argument. On the one hand, stats matter and can't be argued with when they make Hamilton look good, but on the other hand, Schumacher only ranks 3rd or 4th of all time because stats aren't really important and don't tell the whole story. You consistently phrase things in a way to state that if someone doesn't arrive at the exact same conclusions that you do then they're being unreasonable, illogical, biased, blinded, etc. - as if, amongst all the fans of F1 and all the posters on FChat, toil alone stands tall as the objective voice of reasoned analysis. That may not be your intention, but it is certainly how you're received by a significant portion of our F1-following membership. I remind you that this is FerrariChat and it is hardly surprising that there are a lot of Ferrari fans (Tifosi) here. The Tifosi do not look kindly upon teams and drivers that successfully prevent the Scuderia from winning Driver and Constructor titles. Many on here are Ferrari owners, generally well-educated, refined, successful, and powerful in their spheres of influence - it is highly unlikely that an urban style and rebellious persona is going to be well-received by that demographic. Lewis Hamilton is the personification of everything that opposes our demographic. Members here are not required to love, like, or respect Hamilton - you will not change the perceptions of him on this forum. In fact, your arrogant posting style probably further entrenches their negative views of your favorite champion. If you analyse the reactions to your posts, it appears that your campaign to be a "dose of common sense" (attacking other drivers in order to defend Hamilton) is backfiring. Speaking of peaceful, there was a lot less for me to do as a moderator (actually, virtually nothing) when you weren't able to post. What should I conclude there? All the best, Andrew.
Interesting way of reading. 534 posts in the last 2 gp's. Find me 10 posts where posters are saying he sucks please. I did a quick scan through them. Some of us are stating our reasons for not being able to stand Elton, but that's it. I couldn't find any posts that explicitly state that Hamilton sucks.
