I can appreciate the 458 kit, but that 430 looks broken

 

At least you can fit 345 tires now...or maybe even 355.

I get these kits for those tuners who want every fraction of performance available.....

but for me, these things are so antithetical to my enjoyment of the 360.

Compared to the 350z and Camaro C5 crowd I "hung out with" virtually, it seems these kits are few and far between for most Fcar owners.

But if you like it go for it... These cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed!

But I think it is due to an age difference between us and those kids.
Yes, I think its hideous but my son loves it; 30 years difference.

+1, wouldn't even take that $h!+ for free. That F430 looks awful.

I guess it's about going very very very slow. Otherwise, Sparks will be a flying..... Kind of like the low rider thing.

Do you run positive camber?

 

Cartoonish body kits look so exagerated I dont think theres a wheel big enough to look right, and don't even get me started on the camber!!
Strangely the 458 doesn't look so awfull.

 

How to ruin a drivers car.

 

For that crowd it's all about the extreme look and not performance at all. Car would burn though tires in the rear every 2000 miles and would get lapped by Mustangs and Miatas all day on a track. To each his/her own but not for me!

 

How can this increase performance? We have zero idea about how it acts in a windtunnel, other than it most likely increases drag. Also, is it heavier or lighter? And of course, don't forget the super wide rears. With the understeer already present in the 360 and 430 from the factory, why would you mount so wide rears? That's the last thing you need. If there was an actual aero package that worked and made it possible to mount 295(30R19 front and 325/30R19 Trofeo R tyres rear along side a stiffer chassis, that would make for a serious tack monster.

Tome, this just looks like fluff and it looks like crap to boot.

Its probably about picking up chicks!

 

I don't track my 360 Spider because it's too dangerous. But I do track my C5 at negative camber. As you probably knows, it all depends on the suspension configuration and geometry of the car.

 

These are two good reasons to keep praying that resale values don't tank or there could be a lot more of these atrocities on the road.......

Exactly. During my teens, I kept on telling my Dad to modify his car. He preferred stock. Now, my teenager tells me to modify the 360. I want it stock.

 

I'm trying to give the sellers of that "performance kit" the benefit of the doubt. Not that it really matters....

If doing something like this to your 360 makes you love it and drive it more, then go for it. As said before, these cars are meant to be driven.
