Absolutely brilliant photos and great to see history in the making unfold before your eyes - awesome.

As per Bas, it would be great if you could dig up a few more pics !

back on the original subject, i sometimes try to make a mental list of the best drivers...Hamilton doesn't even come close to enter the top 20....but i guess i could squeeze him in the top 30...

This boils down to the definition of GREAT which is different for each individual.

Great doesn't mean statistically most successful to me.

You cannot measure GREATNESS in my book.

It's the manner someone conducts himself that makes him great.

And comparing drivers of different eras is completely and utterly absurd, in my opinion.

Thanks all for the kind words.

I have posted all of these some years ago on FChat, but threads get lost after a while.

So here a few again. Can't help but think about all the people we lost over the years...

    Thanks!

Yes and no. True overall it's about the same (except for the pits complex, look at that picture). To me most striking is the open access to the track. And that's how it was for me back then. I had no press credentials, just walked up to the guard rail and hang over it with my camera. Today you can't even get that close and if you stand up for a moment some guard will come and move you back to your seat where you have the pleasure of trying to shoot through some heavy catch fences. Oh well. Except of course for the Classic F1 Grand Prix weekend in Monaco. But that's another story. :)

Great photos and capture of the past Andreas! You didn't by chance get a photo of a nondescript driver in a Toleman, did you? That was the race that the legend was born...and you were there!

EDIT: Never mind...he's there in the eighth photo down (I mistook it for the Brabham Parmalat car) :)

Wonderful pictures. I don't know if anyone has NOT seen this interview of Stewart with senna but very interesting and short. It seems to me that Stewart praises drivers but when they surpass him he tries to diminish their achievements (as per his questions to senna in the video). Part of why I don't like Stewart. Comes across as a snake to me

The fact this thread has gone on for 30 pages with many of the members here crying and clutching at straws to disprove the fact that Hamilton is a G.O.A.T! If he wasn't the thread would have ended on the first page. Start a thread is Rosberg a GOAT and see how long that goes on for lol!

Hello don, I was wondering when you be back, how's it going?

Don't worry don, it's about his HAIRCUT, does it look like a Billy goat gruff, and some of us disagree because we've never known Billy goats dye their hair. However, I think thats because the metrosexual lifestyle hasn't yet surfaced into Billy goat society. Once they do, we will have Billy goats with coloured hair, shaving their legs, etc etc.

He sure has the bleating down to a tee though, especially when he is getting beat, which happened a whole lot this year so far

I'm just trying to have some fun here. Both merc drivers are given equal equipment and opportunity. For the record, rosberg is too fast for a number two but his racecraft isn't polished.

It made me laugh so thought I would share with you

They did at the start of the season with the pit crew fiasco. Haven't seen any evidence of it lately. Maybe they realise he will never win the title over Hamilton no matter what they do?

Maybe you'll find this one funny mr Singhoff. Do you have Instagram?

    Hahaha, seriously???
You really think that Hamilton would have won any of his WDC if they did not want that???
You think they would have not found ways to prevent that like leaving fluid in the steering column causing an electrical short? Oh, they did that but maybe the mixed up the cars....Get real...
