Its about ownership not purchase so contact your nearest dealer and/or FNA
Contact the Ferrari Dealership you have the best relationship with. They are your gateway to the owners factory tour. Yep! Yes, though is it suggested to go through the dealership you have a relationship with, as it does cost them money to sponsor your tour. You could still go, this is another value adder to do business with a Ferrari Dealer vs independent. ( When was the last time an independent shop got you in the factory afterall ? ) Yep, FNA will most likely turn you back to your closest Dealership for entry ( sponsorship ) Membership has its privileges < wink > Have a great trip! Excellent info in this post. I've been looking into this myself and this lines up exactly with what I've been told. Also, I understand you'll need to be in the CRM system as a Ferrari service or car purchase customer to get sponsored by your dealer. Steve, is this true? .
Yes, it's best that you be an established Ferrari client in advance of asking for them to sponsor you. Ferrari wants to know if you are a brand advocate and loyal client to them ( and the Dealership ) But , is it a rule set in stone, I don't honestly think so. But, if you are a brand advocate, active FCA member, and are at minimum KNOWN by your Dealership you MAY be able to get them to help you out. You would be representing them as a client and your actions would reflect on them as well as you. It's Ferrari... LOL S
I've done the Porsche Museum and factory tour. Email [email protected] and tell them the dates you want. It took me nearly 3 months to get a confirmed tour. I took a train from Munich to Stuttgart. I switched to a local train and took that to the Porscheplatz station. The factory tour starts inside the museum. There is also a flagship dealer across the street. I enjoyed the factory tour (no pics though) a lot. It was amazing to see the automation and tech involved in producing the 911s. The Porsche Museum was really good as well. I managed to squeeze in a trip to the Mercedes Museum as well, and this was even better than the Porsche Museum. I would highly suggest seeing this as it encompasses world history, social culture, pop history, etc. It's a rush to squeeze it all into one day, but it can be done. Here is a link to my Porsche pics. If you need more detailed info, send me a PM. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ahmed_r/sets/72157658006720392
IMO, this should go without saying by now, but if you are doing a Ferrari tour, then a visit to Lamborghini, Pagani, and the Enzo Ferrari museum are an absolute MUST.
I was told I can only get myself and one person in? Has anyone got experience of bringing two guests in with them? Thanks
Could not agree more. Pagani tour was unbelievable. About as up close and personal as you are going to get to supercar production. Went there in 2014 and Horacio Pagani was walking around the facility with his dog chatting with people. Very unique experience.
Absolutely. We went in 2012 and Horacio wasn't around (or he was understandably avoiding us) but when you see stuff like two Zonda Rs, a Tricolore, Lewis Hamilton's three pedal 760LH fire up for the first time, the Huayra press car with some journalist rolling up in it, etc. You know you are in a special place.
cool! I will check again, seems like my local dealer wasnt too keen on having an additional guest. nice I should add that to the list Do you know if there are ferraris for rent around there? Would love to tour the roads there for a day or two with a ferrari, that would be perfect.
There are several companies around the factory that rent Ferraris in various time increments. From a few minutes to several hours. I don't know which, if any, you can take on your own, the ones I remember seeing all had a guy that would go with you. They usually have very pretty girls trolling the parking lots trying to drum up business. Immediately across the street from the Lamborghini factory is the Bull Bar which serves as both a cafe and a Lamborghini rental agency.
I have my tour set up for September 29th through Ferrari Los Angeles. The invitation was for myself and up to 2 guests. No quibbling - simply up to 2 guests. By the way, I am only bringing 1 guest so if anyone is planning to be in Maranello on September 29th, I may be able to add another name to my invite but I would have to try soon Probably helpful if that person is a documented Ferrari owner.
Looking to set up a tour also. I know there's a minimum lead time, but how are dates set? Do they give you a date and you make it work or is there any negotiating?
RGVA, Your dealership will ask you to fill out a form with your preferred tour date. I put a preferred date and an alternative date. I would recommend it be at least 3 months or four months out from the date you submit. The factory usually does two tours groups, twice a day (late morning and early afternoon Monday-Friday). Each group has 8-10 guests. So while limited, there are quit a few slots available each day as long as they are touring. Dealership sends the form letter to the Factory and within a few weeks (depending on time of year) they will respond back to the dealership with confirmation. If they are full or not doing tours on the day or dates you request they will respond back to the dealership and ask for you to pick new dates. Once confirmed you will get a formal letter from the Factory with all the details. You will take that letter as your entrance to the factory. You can bring two guests as long as you put their your original submission form. Don't show up with a random guest. I saw someone try this when we were there last....and it was a no go.
How to get a Factory tour in Maranello? I'll bet if you trade up your F430 your dealer would be happy to arrange a tour!
I actually just got my tour set up today. I emailed my dates in October to my guy at Scottsdale Ferrari today, and they actually sent me the confirmation letter the same day from NJ. He says that they need a 2 month minimum lead time. The plant is closed in August, so I don't know if he has some pull as he has been working there for many years an sells a lot of cars, or if I just got lucky. My understanding is that the tours are limited to 3 guests, and they run 2 tours a day as previously mentioned. I've been told to be punctual as well, as they won't wait for you. My question is how do you get there? I will be staying in Florence, and can take a train to Bologna, but how do you get to the factory? I suppose at some point you have to take a taxi. Any information from someone who has already been there would be appreciated. Thank you.
Last Novemeber I hired a car in Florence and drove to Maranello, stayed in a Hotel near the Factory. It was more convenient ( for me) than catching the train, also allowed me to drive to Modena and the Lambo factory, the back to Bologna airport to drop the car off. You can go by train from Florence to Bologna and then to Modena. From Modena you can catch a cab to Maranello, or There is also a shuttle bus service between the Enzo Museum in Modena and the Factory museum in Maranello, it also stops at the Modena railway station - very convenient. Shuttle between the two Museums - Ferrari Museum Maranello It also depends where you are going to stay, how much time you have and what else you want to visit while youre there. Factory tour is typically groups of 10 people. M
If you get to bologna you can get a taxi to the factory, cost about 80 each way. If you decide to stay in the area then go to modena for a hotel as you will struggle to get an evening meal in marenello. There is a hotel but they only do breakfast when i stayed there
There are at least 20 restaurants right in Maranello and each of these serves evening meals (best is clearly Ristorante Montana right at north end of Fiorano race circuit). And there are also several good hotels right in Maranello (Maranello Palace, Villa Maranello, Maranello Ferrari Village, Hotel Domus, Hotel Planet, Hotel Executive in Fiorano, etc.). Search fchat, there have been many threads about visits to Maranello. Do NOT go by train and taxi cab, rental car is best and easiest and you are free to do what you like. Marcel Massini
Thanks for the info. Now, just need to figure out if I will stay in Florence and do a round trip or just stay in Bologna for a night or something. Never been in Italy before, so excited about the trip, and the factory tour
Does it make any difference to the reception you get if you are intending to arrive at the factory in your Ferrari?
