Is it really a few bolts to change an F1 to manual, and vice versa? Then why on earth is the OP being charged nearly $10k for the process? I would have thought the centre console and pedal arrangement to be a lot more effort than that, before you start on anything else. Bottom line is the OP has decided to bastardise his car when he might not have needed to, due to rubbish maintenance and even more rubbish advice. Someone else could have fixed his F1, doubtless for less money than it cost to convert it, and he could have bought a manual if that's what he really wanted.
I have plenty of toys with padles , and I wanted to bastardize my car , I like that way. and what I really wanted was (MY) car in a stick. I have no regrets, I love throwing away money , I have lots of it.
Great looking car cavillo. I'm wondering if the shop doing the swap got all the parts or if you bought those for the conversion. Really curious how hard this swap is, and how many parts are involved?
I am getting many pms asking questions and interested in the swap , god theres lotsa crazy people out there just like me. I don't like bs.

I would like a list of parts if you put one together Edit - oops! Took too long to write my post, thanks!
It seems odd that someone with lots of money would spend so much on butchering a car in order to avoid possible unlikely future expense, but anyway... You asked the question. My answer is I think you could have fixed the car for less money, sold it on, and bought a manual car if that's what you really wanted. For whatever reason, you've gone down a different path. So what? You've got loads of money, right? Just enjoy your car.
Well why didn't you say that in the first place, instead of pretending you're doing it because F1s are expensive time-bombs? I thought you don't like BS?

I assume and I hope they left the F1 harness in your car? Hidden behind the dash, console and in the engine bay. They didn't go as far as to pull that harness out did they? That would have cost a bomb in labour alone pulling that out. I have converted other 'normal' cars from auto to manual and vice versa and I also agree it's not that big of a job.
What I do know is taking the F1 system out is less than putting it back and you better have an SD to put it back. This is no 2 hour conversation. And, the gated trim surround has been NLA for a while so I hope they / you found that part. Also, the clutch throw out bearing uses a different set of seals - I did not see that on the list.
You do not need to even open the clutch housing. The F1 has the beefier TO bearing, but it functions identically to the manual. No changes needed. No need to even touch the transmission The center console doesn't even need the be removed either. Just the ash tray/ HVAC controls to access the shifter box. I believe any DIY person with decent knowledge could do this in a weekend.
In my humble opinion I dont thing the terms butchering or bastardizing are even close to applicable on something like this. It's something that can be completely reversed leaving no evidence of the swap. It's just changing one OEM configuration for another. It's not like he's cutting the frame rail out so he can get to the pully to do an engine in belt change.
Kenny, I've had 355's apart many times so I know what is envolved. If you list actual P/N's, I'd guess the count would be near 50 if you wish to make a seemless conversation. Later F1 oil tanks did not have an oil temp bung - you would need to swap tanks or remove, weld bung for that gauge. The seals for the TO are different because gated cars use brake fluid while F1's use hydraulic. I'm not trying to argue with you but it's more involved than you think. I bet changing the pedal box is 1/2 day alone. This is no 10-16 hour job
