Will do. My plan is buy a car in Florida and drive it back to Vancouver. Tour the South while I do it. So not sure the time frame or season.

Ditto, Z! Let me know if you ever come by Texas.

Nathan is right on about the South. I lived in Memphis and loved it. Lots of poverty in the Deep South, but man, some of the greatest, friendliest people in this country. And, if you can't get a good meal in the Deep South, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I do, however, NOT miss the summer humidity. :)

Another Canadian gem. Great garage. Helicopter pad. Amazing views. $9.7 million CDN. Been for sale for awhile. First go around was for sale by owner. They broke down and got an agent. Only drawback its on Vancouver Island.

I really like that. As big as it, it still appears very homey.

That is not a singular architecture style but a mix. While nowhere near as bad as the houses here: Worst of McMansions What is with some window having shutters and most not?

Yeah saw that link in the silver section I think. Some of those are pretty bad. The neighborhood of the house I posted does have some nice mansions, but most there and in the surrounding neighborhood are McMansions. The really high quality estates in FL all seem to be built along the Gold Coast down in the south. The rest have McMansions to varying degrees.

I posted an unfinished mansion a few posts back here. It was on the market a few years. My brother and I nicknamed it the White Elephant. Started at $20million and sold for under $3million. The builder died midway through building the 40k sqft. monster. The widow by five or six years just wanted it sold.

My next one fits the thread. It has a famous person connection. I knew about it back in the day. My uncle is very good friends with these guys that are a somewhat famous band in Canada. Uncles friends band was managed by the same manager as BTO and did some work on the recording studio.

The house is a little old for my taste. But I really like the location. Its rural but has major amenities nearby. Seattle 2hrs drive. Vancouver under 1hr.

so tacky. I was ok with the outside and aerial, but the interior view was dreadful.
