Google search found only two races for "John Wayne" in Italian GT 1992: Vallelunga on 29.03.1992 and Mugello (without exact date); none in 1993.

f-register.com lists Giorgio Piacenca as driver of chassis 93153 in the 348 Challenge 1994??? According to the same source, Antonio Marasca (aka "John Wayne") raced chassis 95520 in the 1994 season.

 

Excellent! Not that I am in the market for a 348 Challenge, but I am trying to build for myself a database with race results. Reliable sources for details of the Italian GT and Ferrari Challenge races of the early nineties are hard to find on the internet for a non Italian....

Hello guys,

I have found the car:

1992 Ferrari 348 TS Challenge for sale

but no price ???

 

Just saw that Ferrari 308 Vetro (Heinz ?) is a "banned user". Is this a mistake ? If banned is it temporary or permanent ? Funny but I looked forward to seeing a new Challenge car for sale/shilled by him once every couple of weeks (yes I'm still on the hunt for a US spec. street legal 95 355C). Anybody know what happened ? Moderator can provide info. I assume. Thank you.

Well I don't think he offended with any of his posts. Could be late to pay the classified subscription fee for dealers. Advertising cars for sale without a current subscription is s no-no. His first ban was car sales related.

But I am only guessing. Wish him well.

i know this car, is owned by a local guy and i even drove it twice

the car was raced in period by an italian man, Marasca, under the nick John Wayne.
it has an interesting history, because it raced first the italian GT championship and then the 348 challenge series

is a very complete car with OMP seats and belts, challenge (loud) muffler, air intakes for the brakes, lowered suspensions, racing pedals, cover for the lights...and even the suede challenge steering wheel that i have seen on Very few 348 challenge (i had 2 and neither came with it....is a rare feature that was not on all 348 ch)

car is fun to drive, as all 348 challenge i drove: higly undervalued cars imo
