I have a 360 with the Ferrari racing exhaust system in it -- a monster -- very loud. What is the loudest system I can place in a 458?

My 458 exhaust advice is IPE F1 catless or whatever you are running these days Carlo!

This will surely wake up the neighbors!

Technically - removing or tampering with the cats will make it "Not Legal" in most states. With that being said - going with a NON-Valved Exhaust System is going to be the best bet. There are quite a few options. In the state of California - the restrictions are getting heavier and heavier so we are unfortunately unable to sell an exhaust with NO CATS unless the vehicle is outside of the state of California.

So the question really is - do you want to be legal (with cats) or Not Legal (catless).

Obviously the catless system's are incredible sounding - Case In Point, the Novitec Extreme Exhaust System :)

You also can do the Capristo, Akrapovic or IPE system as well! Give us a call - would be more than happy to help you out!

Mine is so loud l can't hear ANY words, let alone F-words. So l am fine with the stock system with the baffles open all the time. ;)

Can't hear any f-words so people must love me. People wave, smile, give me thumbs up, and take lots of pics on their cell phones. I just love to make other people happy! :)

Absolutely love the sound of catless IPE with stock headers; however, I live in CA (good and bad thing) and want sport cats. IPE catalyst pipes are integrated into their own muffler system. So, in my case, I'd have to ditch my Akrapovic exhaust to run the IPE cats. Ain't gunna do it - wouldn't be prudent. So, anybody have experience or comments about Capristo cats? I'm leaning in that direction.

The question was, what is the loudest LEGALLY.

None of those catless setups are legal in any way shape or form in most countries and US states.

I believe Capristo makes some pretty loud setups where there's basically nothing to muffle the sound other than the cats once the valves open. However, what's the loudest legal system also has to do with the maximum allowed level where you live. Some places will allow you to run nothing but cats, while others still will have you running cats and some kind of muffler to meet restrictions. There are probably some places around the world where you can run a true straight pipe setup with no cats, no resonators and no mufflers.

I'm pretty sure the best legal setup is going to be novitec headers and high flow cats with the exhaust of your choice

If sport cats are legal where you live that is. They are not here in the EU.

The stock cats are very restrictive. I did a valveless exhaust for my friend and it definitely wasn't as loud as expected. Even if you run the car with no exhaust at all its not loud. It just sounds like stock with valves open.

I wouldn't see headers making a difference since the flow will still travel thru the same restrictive cat.

I'm building my buddy test pipes next and will report back.
