    Thank you deichenb

I was actually on that bidding commenting under the same alias. There are loads of questions about that car.
It does look amazing, but it seems to not be original anymore. In fact, the seller seems to be selling the front bumper separately on ebay as well.

The car is being sold by a <name removed> - from what I read around here, he has a history..

    What do you guys think?

    Cheers
    Ricardo

I recognize your alias now. Sounds like you've done your due diligence on the car/vendor. Best of luck in your search.

    Many thanks 308 milano,

Looked into that one, but some queries showed up immediately from the guys here (whether it really is a Euro, etc. Have enquired the owner and it seems almost no history is provided - apart from the history since he bought he a few years ago), so was not really considering that one.

Then on ebay we have the <name removed> one, which has raised queries in the BaT auction and now looking into another one.

was looking into a car with history and in good shape. As recommended always here, want to be patient and get the right one.

Most, if not all (there is still today a small proviso for some swiss cars, and Gordon's one sold new in Jersey) "Euro" QVs have body-color louvres/vents in the front fenders and hood. This one has been repainted, and now sports black vent/louvres as she was an US car; except she isn't. She really should have body-color vents to look "euro"...

Pliers in the tool roll are not correct, these are from a later period (but this is only a manifestation of my accute and dangerous "toolrollisis"...so...)

the car isnt even registered in the New Page 3 database, and it belonged to a previous fchat member, so I couldnt really see what was happening there..

on top of that, if seems the guy bought a decent one, then sold pieces of it and modified it as he wished (probably to make a bigger margin) - he is selling the front bumper and says it was taken from his 308...

Yes; ask "AlbertoLP" here, who is living near the factory: a true "Euro" QV should have the vents on the front of the car (behind the retractable lights pods and in the middle of the front hood) body color, not black (with the proviso mentioned above for PERHAPS (?) some swiss cars, and Gordon's one here delivered new in Jersey). The only "euros" with black vents were the "208 Turbos", sold new only in Italy.

Furthermore, that car also has been - very lightly - "federalised", in so far as it has the four large side repetitors - or side markers - of the US cars, not the small front rectangular indicator repetitors ones of the true euros (which have none on the rear fenders).

Should any one would want to bring her back to full euro configuration, the buyer would at least have to had the louvres/vent back to body color, and some light body work and paint done, especially at the rear, where their should be no side marker at all. At the front, perhaps the holes for the US type side market would match for the smaller euro indicator repetitors.

That's not a lot, but to be fully "euro" looking, it has to be done.
Also the bulb box in the tool roll looks very 328 to me, it should be the green "rotor" type, but that's minor (well, my illness, "toolrollisis", obsession for the tool rolls, is not minor...)

I know you're a stickler for detail, Bruno, so I should point out that black European cars have, of course, black vents. I'm now the happy owner of a nero, btw :)

To the o/p, it's amazing how liberating, inspiring and elegant a non-red Ferrari can be! Nothing against red ones; I had one for over 15 years..

Yep; one of my two cars is black too, the GTS, but then on a 328 the question of the front vents color does not arise (although you can see from time to time red GTBs with silver Hood grille, I think to mimic the 512BB).
Black cars are nevertheles more difficult to keep spotlessly clean...
It explains my pseudo here: I was short on ideas but had a look at the color label of the car, where it is written "NeroFer 901/C"; how lazy one can be...)

Note that if this one is "Euro" and has black vents/louvre, it is legitimate and original: it is a "208 Turbo"...

Somehow I'd always assumed from your pseudo that both your cars were black :)

As for nero showing dirt; I don't wash my car very often (only fully once a year) and wiping it down or dusting it is easy enough. I don't mind the occasional streak of mud staying on the car for a while, as long as there's no salt on the roads. I haven't had my nero long but I don't think my approach is going to change.

i know, i know.. I have to admit that have seen a few black ones and they are definitely growing on me..

however, this will be my first Ferrari, and still believe that first one should always be red/tan :)
