Good question and I wish I knew the answer.

I have three pairs, one new set on the campys, one partly used set on the replicas and one well used pair now 10 years old, just in case... The only [un]realistic alternative is Michellin TB5...but Pirelli has recently made some P7 for the Countach...

Semi slick but road legal Pirelli P7 are available:
    Pirelli P7 Corsa Classic Tarmac Tyre 285 40 15 D3 Compound - Rally/Racing Car | eBay

Michelin also do semi slick 285/40/15:
    26/61-15 Michelin TB5R (26/61/15, 285/40/15, 285/40R15, 285/40-15, 2854015) | eBay

However neither of these are suitable to everyday road use IMHO.

Toyo do batches of 285/40/15 but hard to find. And if you do find make sure they are from a recent batch. I found some 2012 date 285/40/15 Toyos in Belgium which I've just put on my car ready for its Convoy 2 trip back from Italy at the end of the month.

The Renault 5 turbo 1 also take 285/40/15 so silhouettes are in competition for these tyres (I'm in competition with myself as I have a R5T1 as well!), however on the R5T forum there is talk of toyo doing another batch soon. Whether there is any truth in that....who knows?

    Hello,

thank you for your hints regarding the Silhouette tyres.

Will have a look on the several possibilities to get some having 40046 running properly.

    Best,

    kuntatsch

Richard's car (my old car!) is the subject of a great feature in this month's Evo magazine. They gave it four out of five stars, and a very favourable write-up (which of course it fully deserves).

I understand that Ivor and Richard helped the author avoid the usual inaccuracies about the Silhouette, so thanks to both.

If anyone outside the UK can't get hold of a copy of the magazine, please PM me!

With talk of weighing a Countach on the Downdraft thread, I take the opportunity to share the weight data for 40006 with fuel tanks full. Those important cross weights, totalled diagonally across the car, are a miniscule 3 kgs apart.
