Who has already pre-ordered his 488 GTO and what is your opinion about the market value once the car is announced in late November 2016 ? Do you think the price increase / premium will be similar to the 458 Speciale / Aperta or do you think this will be more like the F12 TdF ( 2-3 times list price = market value ) Looking forward to your thoughts
In order to deflect yet another values thread - I guess the clue is in the guy's name lets look at it another way: does anyone agree with his date ?
Sorry I left my crystal ball at home today but I will let you know once I get back and see what it says...........
Nope. Not 2016 and not a massive increase. Certainly not 2-3x the value as the TDF is a limited edition v12, whereas there will be no limit on the new "Speciale" coupe version. Seeing the 488 market I'd quickly sell it. I doubt the premium will exceed 60k
First off, you can't compare a non-le car to an le car. Only the Speciale Aperta was an le car, the Speciale was not. The 488 GTB VS will most likely do something similar price-wise to the Speciale. It is after all a Ferrari VS car, so customers will be all over it as usual, turbos or no turbos. Who gave you that November 2016 time frame? There's definitely speculation among us as to when this car will debut, but that goes from late 2017 to about 2019, My money is still on Geneva 2018 for the 488 GTB VS. And also, where did you get that GTO name from? No name have been decided yet, and seeing how coveted the GTO name is and how recently it was used, I'd be hugely surprised if they named the 488 GTB VS the GTO - they didn't even name the 488 Spider the GTS.
+1 Actually this is quite simple. GTS moniker is reserved for cars with targa roof. For example: Dino 246 GTS, 308 GTS, 328 GTS etc.
Actually no. It's meant for a lot of the open top cars. Way before the Dino, 308 etc. it was used for cars such as the 275, 330 and 365. It has nothing to do with being a Targa, it's about it being a Spider. The GTB moniker stands for Grand Turismo Berlinetta and in the world of Ferrari GTS stands for Grand Turismo Spider. The Targa moniker belongs to Porsche and is their trademark to this day.
I meant in this model line (started by Dino and followed by its successors up to the 488 GTB/Spider). Sorry for the confusion.
It's a term Ferrari commonly uses on this kind of car before they receive or publish an actual model name.
The 488 Speciale / GTO will be confirmed to the public in late November 2016. The only question is: Will it be "only" a speciale, will it be a "speciale GTO" or will they use the magical GTO letters only. My main question is how would you estimate the premiums in case: a) it is "only" a speciale b) it is a "speciale GTO" c) it is a GTO Thank you for your opinions
Is that a fact about November with F12M in March and production line issues? It will not be a GTO, no way.
Again, that November thing, makes zero sense. Who is the source of this and where/how did they get that info? And for that A, B, C - what does that even mean? What is the A Speciale compared to the C GTO, and how does those compare to B Speciale GTO? It's a 488 VS, that's it. What it will be called is anybody's guess. As for the GTO moniker being used? Nope.
488 VS unveiled same year as F12 VS and just after LaF Aperta... This thread is so stupid it should not deserve attention from anyone with an IQ above the level required to open a door.
I've ordered but the 488gto won't be a big profit car imo. I will also be getting an aperta and don't expect it to do as well as the 458. Luckily I just want fun cars and not particularly profits.
Wasn't the F12TDF last year? Not sure the laf spider has bearing on other cars. Even though I ask those questions I still agree with you;-)
No you haven't as it will never exist! You might have told your dealer you want a 488 VS as that is all it is right now.
Please don't be a jerk. You know what I mean. I have a contract for one as we don't have a name yet. It already exists, motor has been tuned and will be released whenever Ferrari chooses to do so. You're just an ass if you want to be particular about the name.
As Marcel said, what a ridiculous thread and I should have known better than to assume a sense of humour was available in Germany. Apologies, Mea Culpa.
Yeah, you're absolutely correct, it's a pretty useless thread really but i just answered the question he asked. Often as incorrect as it is I refer to it as the 488 "Speciale" as a simple reference to the car we currently know. I do have one but often a sense of humor would be taken and accepted when it's lead up to...... it wasn't however. My apologies for pointing out that you were an ass.
Cars are so much more than profit and a collection of numbers, they are an experience, any supercar is an experience.
