    Just curious...

Has anyone purchased or built the new MFH 1/12 512BB LM kit (versions A - D)? Looks pretty nice. My model builder has pretty much hung up the spurs, so I might be looking for a builder willing to take this on as a build. It's WAY more than I want to.

    Thanks,

Barely time for dealers to have received stock let alone for someone to actually be building one!

In the meantime have a look at this, should help whet your appetite for the BBLM: View topic - MFH 1/12 Lancia 037 Martini | F1M.com

Thanks. I did learn that they are just recently released, so that's not surprising. The kits look nice and seem to turn out well (I imagine MFH has a pro build for their press release photos). Highly detailed. Expensive. Saw them on ebay in the low $700 price range.

If you are interested there is a dealer in Arizona I can recommend or, of course, you can order from any of several Japanese online stores.

Not that I'm an expert, but I feel pretty good with modeling skills... I'm looking forward to the challenge.

That mid section will definitely need to be re fabricated in brass. It's a major weak spot.

The chassis is not quite right for this 315/335
I do not think MFH has a build sheet as some of us do :)

Something is wrong with this model. It looks strange like their 250 GTOs
Maybe because they only do 3d designing in stead of better modellers who shape by hand: profil, minidelta, de conto and others

Aston's side window is too narrow and does not taper at the rear correctly ...

And God that was one ugly race car ... lol.

Here are the photos to compare. Part of the problem is the tires look to small making them look like replicas. I think #0684's body looks ok. #0674 is harder to tell. The shapes look ok, but those tires should be bigger or the wheel openings smaller just like on the GTO's they made. Profil made the same mistake on their 312P to a lesser degree. Minidelta sizes their wheels/tires perfectly.

Sorry but looking at photos of the 315/335 the MFH does not look right, proportions.
We need to see a finished model.

I think it is not perfect but not as bad as you think. The side profile of #0674 looks better. The tires are not tall enough either. The Japanese manufactures measure everything, but do not correct things to make them look good to scale. Tires are their biggest problem. Also that windscreen looks like a 1960 regulation!!!

They are also to proud to take advise, and they sometimes need it!! I offered many photos and they said they did not need them. Well they should have taken people up on their offer.
