Probably partly due to me (who knows) there's now a suppression order in this case until it's finalised.
Thanks for the updates Peter. Have you ever considered a job as a court reporter? You now have the experience !!
Haha.... They couldn't pay me enough! If I didn't know all the players I would have been bored senseless.
No Cookies | Herald Sun Tip of the iceberg: Jon Andrews, Bayside Leader August 3, 2015 12:50pm A VINTAGE car restorer has faced court over the alleged theft of his friend’s ultra-rare Ferrari, which was one of only nine ever made. Sandro Mark Terzini, 46, of Dromana, appeared before court this morning and was charged with theft and deception over the alleged illegal sale of a 1959/1960 GT 250 Coupe Series II right-hand drive, worth at least $465,000. The car is extremely rare — one of only nine RHD versions ever made — and has been on display at prestigious motor shows and featured in classic car brochures. Mr Terzini, who ran a business repairing and restoring vintage vehicles in Bentleigh, has pleaded not guilty. In a police summary tendered to the court, it is alleged Mr Terzini had stored the car at a Brighton property for a close friend, who he had known for 20 years, because the man’s house and garage had been destroyed in the 2009 bushfires. It is alleged Mr Terzini then illegally sold the car in July 2013 to an exotic vehicle trader for $465,000. At the time of the sale the victim was overseas, and allegedly completely unaware of the transaction. The victim allegedly discovered the car was missing when he returned to Australia in September 2014. In the meantime, the car had been again onsold, with values rising to about $1 million. The owner reported the alleged theft of his car to Sandringham police in October last year. Police statements given by Mr Terzini said he was acting on behalf of the car owner and that he knew he was selling the vehicle. However, this is denied by the car’s owner. Mr Terzini received three charges in March this year including stealing a motor car, dishonestly obtaining property and stealing cash. He will face a County Court directions hearing tomorrow morning. Police documents state they were not aware of the car’s current location.
That story was a year ago and the value of the Ferrari was around $1M. What are they worth now? Prices have risen again surely? Have they made mention of what the car might be worth now in court now PP?
I just took you off ignore to see this reply and I saw your "suppression order" post just then. **Back on ignore you go**
