    Hi,
I have an F430 spider and my little boy (4 years old) loves it and wants to drive along with me in it.
He is too small to sit in the normal seat so I tried putting our childseat in it, but the base of the childseat is too large to fit in the sportseat of the Ferrari. (the sides of the seat are too high and the base is small)
Are there special child seats with a smaller base that can fit the sport seat ?
Can I for example put a cushion under the childseat as a raiser or is it dangerous in case when something happens ?

I wld only put a booster in a 430 - if the kid isn't big enough for a booster I wld not try putting a full car seat in.

Try these seats. They are 5 inches more narrow than a regular child seat and have a 135 pound capacity.

I bought three of these for my wife's Cayenne S because they were the only way we could fit 3 child seats in the back of her SUV.

I use this child seat in my Scud all of the time with my 3 yr old and have no issues at all. They are extremely well-made and have excellent support. I highly recommend giving them a look.

Don't put a cushion under the seat! Proper installation is key to a safe childseat. Usually there are carseat specialists in your area, check with your local hospital for a referral. The specialist can usually recommend the best carseat for your situation.

This. I used a bottom-only booster in my 360 spider all the time. I tried at least 4-5 different models before I found one narrow enough to fit into the seats (I have the OEM carbon fiber race seats). I even took one that I bought from Wal-Mart and sawed off the arms on it to make it fit, but later found one that fit better.

Just be sure you use it with the seat all the way back when driving with a child. Keep them as far away from the airbag as possible.

Hello, can you please post a picture of the one that you use right now? I want to get a bottom only booster that I can easily put on and off because the car seats are in the SUV and they are a pain in the ass to remove, I want something that will keep my daughter safe when I take her to the school a mile away and also will not destroy my seats in the process (some car seats and boosters have very sharp shaped bases that will make a mark on the leather, I actually use some seat protectors in the SUV and also in the Ferrari but I prefer one that the base is more flush)
And also the car doesn't have a latch system (little hooks that secure the seats base)
    Thanks

I have seen a few members with child seats. ( I think Rob in AZ had a video where he drove his baby home from hospital in his 355)

I brought both my son and my daughter home from the hospital in my 308. I just buckled in and went right away - obviously driving very carefully.

I saw that one today, how is it? Do you need very nice lungs to inflate it? Being an inflatable device do you think I am sacrificing safety vs something like this?
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BBYAF6S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I want to have something small that I might store in the trunk and install it easily when my daughter asks me every morning "can you take me to school in the car with the horse?"
It just breaks my heart telling her no because it takes so much time to take the car seats from the SUV along with the seat protector and install it in the Ferrari.

How is the bottom? Do you use it without any seat protector and the leather is fine?
Does it have a belt positioner?

    Thanks

    Thanks

It's very easy to inflate, and stays inflated for a long time. It is certified, so I don't think there should be any sacrifice in safety.

I do put a small towel under the seat. It does have a belt positioner. I kept it in the back seat of my car with the seatbelt in the little positioning ring.

The one I use is the red version of the Cosco product at https://www.coscokids.com/car-seats/topside-booster-car-seat-assorted-bc030bos4.html. It has a nice narrow base that fits well in the seats.

I don't have a great pic of the seat by itself, but my youngest child, now almost 7, has been sitting in it since he was 4. As you can see from the photo below, he finds it quite comfortable. The Ferrari is actually the only car he will fall asleep in, and only with the top down and the engine roaring! Even he thinks it is funny.

I ordered one Bubble Bum from Amazon today along with a Diono super mat protector to protect the leather and reduce the sliding.
    https://www.amazon.com/Diono-Super-Protector-Organizer-Black/dp/B00BFQ5BMU/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1473911221&sr=8-1&keywords=diono+super+mat

I have two of the full versions of the mat protector in the SUV and even in a Porsche Cayenne that I used to own with tan interior and it works great, no color transfer and no marks on the leather, I really recommend either one (full size or half size)

By the way after ordering the Bubble Bum I found this one
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01H5VJJTE/ref=sr_tnr_p_1_12034495011_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1473951125&sr=8-1&keywords=mifold+booster+seat

Sounds interesting, it is basically the same concept of proper fitting the belt to our kids but without lifting them.
It has been approved in the US and EU, But I guess you might have something to explain to a California cop for example (and I assume other states are similar), because the law states children under 8 must be secured in a "car seat or booster seat" and this one is neither.
Also in 2017 they must be in a rear facing one until they reach 2 years old (current law is 1 year old)

    "Effective January 1, 2017:
Children under 2 years of age shall ride in a rear-facing car seat unless the child weighs 40 or more pounds OR is 40 or more inches tall. The child shall be secured in a manner that complies with the height and weight limits specified by the manufacturer of the car seat.

    Current California Law:
Children under the age of 8 must be secured in a car seat or booster seat in the back seat.
Children who are 8 years of age OR have reached 4' 9" in height must be secured by a safety belt in the back seat.
Passengers who are 16 years of age and over are subject to California's Mandatory Seat Belt law"

There is an exception for cars without rear seats obviously
    http://www.cdph.ca.gov/HealthInfo/injviosaf/Documents/ParentBrochure-English.pdf

Also the idea of giving a ride to my daughter in my car is that she enjoys the ride, and not having a height boost in a really low seat will have her looking at the "360 spider" emblem all the time, so I am sticking with the Bubble Bum, but I wanted to share this one in the forum in case of emergencies or taxis etc, because it is even smaller to carry than the Bubble Bum.

Side question: Does the F430 have a passenger airbag disable switch?

    F430 does, 360 doesn't
Most of the switches to deactivate airbags are because some people put rear facing seats in the front and those are very dangerous if the airbag is deployed.
In a normal crash (where the car structure is not compressed) the airbag will not reach a kid properly secured with a seatbelt.

I thought the 360 didn't, wasn't sure about the 430. I don't know if I'd feel comfortable having my child in the front seat even front facing with the airbag on. It's not as bad as rear facing but still contraindicated I think.

Yes, that is why I don't take regular drives with my daughter, only low speed and nearby destinations.
There is a kit to deactivate the airbags by Ferrari but It might be discontinued by now and/or insanely expensive

    http://www.ricambiamerica.com/car-diagrams/ferrari/v6-v8/360-group/360-modena/passenger-air-bag-exclusion-kit.html

There is an aftermarket method and at least in the US the process of getting the permit from the NHTSA is easy to obtain for two seater cars.

    This is the website
