Ouch...so 04G was a high school kid after all. Oh well, at least he is a millenial who likes cars.

I came in here hoping to find some type of concrete evidence (i.e., dyno results, etc.) about Ferrari supposedly overstating their HP figures but instead, I found a big waste of time.

I will say that I do agree with many on here who have said that production Ferraris are about more than simply straight line speed, or even track times for that matter. They are as much about the intangibles (emotions and driver's experience/feel) as they are about raw performance statistics. There is no other marque that I have lusted after more since becoming a car enthusiast as a kid than Ferrari. Yes, I have always liked them for their great speed and handling but it goes much deeper than that. In most cases, I'd take a Ferrari over a faster car any day of the week. Of course, most Ferraris are still fast enough to get the average driver in a world of trouble...and quickly.

WOW Paul.. you saw this through to the end!

It's exactly what I expect from a kid whose parents but him an 08' Turbo... Three generation rule.

Good points, I agree with your list!!!

It's like stereo hi-if law of diminishing returns, I picked the 911 based on the the 1/4 mile list here

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fastest_production_cars_by_acceleration

You're right though the GTR and Z06 and Hellcat have better 1/4 mile/price ratio for sure.

As far as QC and stupid pricing, I hear you brother!

    Cheers

Like I said before, way to make an entrance.
Paul, you forgot the photo with the hand scrawled note calling another member a mental midget. No apology from me, he's still a troll who came only to run his mouth and make false claims.
As was already said, just what I'd expect from a kid who's folks bought him an '08 turbo.

I'm also happy to put my measly hundred in that escrow until junior's claims are proven.

Hi Ross, agreed - but to be fair - he's not a teenager anymore ;) I'll just say he's in his VERY late 20's .. was just saying he's still acting like a high school boy racer.

Btw.how did the contractor take it yesterday?

Have a nice weekend, going to watch Singapore Qualifying now, Forza Ferrari!

    Cheers

Are you guys really wasting 17 pages talking about drag racing a ferrari? It totally misses the point of the car...

Paulchua - nicely done, your internet sleuthing skills are strong.

You proved what I "called" back on page 2...I didn't return for the ****-fest until now and see it wrapped up. Bravo!

True. But then the OP is at that delicate age of discovery wherein a young lad finds a ruler and measures his junk. He just kept measuring things as perhaps he didn't like the first result.

Still bad behavior, he is certainly old enough to know better, if ever taught the difference anyway.
Contractor(stone mason) is at work as we speak. I didn't have the "or else" lined up in time to can him. Needs to be baby sat every minute and is only slightly smarter than the medium of his trade. Sigh.
    Watch qualifying, good idea,

How very interesting. So our friend does own a 911, but that's it, yes? No Ferrari, no Lambo, no Bentley? And although he may act like one, he is not a pubescent kid, but an adult who should know better (and not a very polite one either!).

I watched the John Pogson video. Very interesting:

    1. He is right about not getting hung up on any one make. Different cars have different qualities and all can be appreciated for what they are, not what they aren't. Speaking personally, I have a somewhat diverse collection (see Bluebottle) and I enjoy them all, even the humble Fiat 500.

    2. I shall look at Mondials in a different light in future - what a lovely sound that car makes!

I probably messed this up but didn't he say he owned a 991 tts?

An 08 turbo is a 997 tt. Not the same car.

    I likely misread it tho.

I think the moral of all these type threads is don't engage the troll and when people ask you why you bought a Ferrari when ____ is better because of _____, the answer is "because I wanted to and could."

Wow, what an interesting turn of events. Good job Paul. Must admit, I certainly gave him the benefit of the doubt to prove himself and an opportunity to back his claims up. Fool me once 04g.......now you need to preserve some dignity and apologize to the group for your dishonesty. I won't hold my breath but I will PM you as a reminder.

That aside, I think we can at least extract some value out of this thread? I have learnt something for sure :)

You definitely have a unique and diverse range of cars in your garage John.

They look to be in excellent condition also. Some great cars owned in the past also.

I absolutely love the 246, it's a beauty mate! Thanks sharing and I hope you enjoy the weekend.

    okay okay, you own them.

I also will say I believe that you are the fastest, greatest, Porsche 911 Turbo driver on earth.

At this point, if you turned out you really are some Ukrainian business magnate I wouldn't care anymore.

As you said yourself, yes, whether you own the cars or not is irrelevant. (I agreed)

Because at this point, it doesn't change the fact that even now when I'm trying to extend the olive branch, you're just proving more you're a grade A ******bag that came to FerrariChat to pick a fight. And as somebody that calls themselves a car "enthusiast" all I see is an insecure guy that needs to constantly prove his chops by going on an enthusiast chat board and saying how good his 1/2 mile speed trap is and how bad everybody else's are.

    Okay you win.

    sad.

okay wish me luck at the car show!
