So we might actually see one on the roads again here in the USA?

I know of one in the greater NY area, not that I keep track of such things, but that's about it.

Color and rarity + good presentation can make a big difference. Congrats. It looks stunning.
I'm an Espada & Bora fan and owner as well but the Khamsin will always be seen as a more beautiful car than an Espada. It takes a special taste for the truly exotic looking to appreciate those. The V12 helps too!

Hi Bob, it is not as dire as that there are to speak just of your area about 5 in the big apple area which come out for the odd drive or concours. One is a long term project restored by a British enthusiast who lives there.

    All the best,

    Marc

    Hello,

Thank you for the notice. Due to the early nose and sidelight type it looks like a Japanese market car. Do you have the chassis number/more information?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Joe,

No they wanted them like in Europe (despite the struggles this implied at toll and parking lot booths so they are all left hand drive, 31 cars, 21 of which are automatic making this one a minority case. They almost all had that peculiar front wing/fender sidelight which is not the same as the US one (plus US cars have one at the rear fender/wing too).

Here are photos of AM120.022, 138, 200 and 300, all even numbers, all LHD.

    Best regards,

    Marc

Here is the shot of 138, as a Jpeg this time.

I added a shot of 192 which is in Europe and was once at Symbolic in Socal, automatic (it likely got a non factory add on rear fender/wing sidelight when it entered the US), and then two others: in gold a gorgeous unidenfied one but definitely in Japan as is the last one with odd mirrors.

About 2-3 years ago a very helpful young Japanese lady in Milan who guides Japanese car people in Europe and vice versa helped me identify several K's in the land of the rising sun (by correspondence, I have been there twice in the early 1990's on business but did not go this time) but privacy there is such that in many cases you just don't ask such questions...so chassis numbers aren't always given, far from it.

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hello Herbert (Silvsurf)...

Any luck in finding those mounts? There are many of us owners that will probably
be facing this situation in the not to distant future. Any information would be beneficial
    to us all !

    Thanks...

    Hello---
Seriously looking at a 1977 Khamsin, dark blue with white leather interior. USA car properly converted to civilized specs, cosmetically as well as mechanically. From long term owner; fully documented 23,000 miles. Occasionally used. Nice shape.
Pretty car; though very clean, not sure about the white interior.

What do you think I should pay for it???

    Regards.

Hello boralogist... If the car is actually as nice as you say, and the 23K miles is correct,
and it is a 5 - speed, my guess would be $130K to $145K would be a good price. I'll bet
the blue over white looks spectacular!

Marc would probably have a better feel for the market....Hopefully, he'll post what he thinks it might be worth...

    Hi Mike,

I got a reply today from Rolf Schiemenz/Germany which says that he would have the parts in his warehouse but the rubber is cracked as being 40 years old! The good news is that he ordered reproduction parts and will come back to me when they will be available.

I will keep you all posted.

    Hello Boralogist, Mike,

Mike's price assessment sounds about right, I wonder which one it is: 1182 pictured here?
This one was owned by Ivan -photos credit to him- some years back. Another was 1054 but that one is in Europe now, there is a medium blue car in the northeast seen at some events too. Once you give me the chassis numer number I can provide you with what I have on its history. 1182 needs a Euro front bumper but of course the main visual disaster of the US back end has been converted.

Re the wire wheels (which at least one other K has in California) don't quite agree, on a seventies car it is a bit too retro and I always question their strength in case of track or really spirited driving.

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hi Marc,

I think there are or were 4 to 5 white cars in Japan:

    1) 070 which has gone to New Zealand (without pic)
    2) 350 whith red interior and automatic, recent photos on Mattan's Blog:?????.???? - livedoor Blog?????
    3) another automatic with black interior, repainted from rosso fuoco, 1978 model, now in a Museum (’r‘ò‘lŽt ƒT[ƒLƒbƒg‚̘TMUSEUMŒöŽ®ƒTƒCƒgbƒ}ƒZƒ‰ƒeƒB@ƒJƒ€ƒVƒ“) this is the one from the Tsukuba circuit. if you know somebody who can visit the museum, it should be easy to find out the serial number, as there are many photos of it with open engine bay
    4) an older one with black interior and no Ventilation slats
    5) the one with white interior and white rear view mirrors, available now, but this could be the same as no 4, after a retrim; unfortunately the link to this car (http://supercarnet.digiweb.jp/File/File-Maserati/Khamsin/Khamsine.htm) is no longer accessible, but I include a few pics

    Best regards

    Hi Roger,

I just went through all my LHD Euro model files and that is about it. When I have a minute I will get the full list of Japanese cars from Fabio.

Here are photos of 350 which came on the market in 2007 and sold within Japan at the time with just 12000kms, like new, note the small added lights at rear.

Great notes but "location: Ibaraki Kamisu or Ikezawa Hayato" sound like people names not cities, whereas Sendai is definitely a city or prefecture. The quest goes on:)

    Best regards,

    Marc

We must not forget this one which was in the mystery cars of my initial MKR website in 2004: the mystery Japanese big wheel K:)

Who knows f it survives and in what guise?

Hi Marc. Kamisu is a town in Ibaraki prefecture in Japan. But Ikezawa and Hayato both seem to be person names as you say.
Wikipedia does reference a town called Hayato however......

    Best regards.
