All photos in one thread with one click shown in a gallery.
I'm sure there is a good reason for it (to get more people to sign up?) but I would prefer img codes enabled, this way it is easier to share pictures rather than links to pictures via tapatalk/from my mobile phone.
Whenever I do a keyword search, I get the threads the word is contained in but I have to scroll thru endless pages to find that word highlighted in red. Am I searching wrong or could we "cut to the chase" better?
When a user changes his handle, can there be some kind of note next to the original handle, so that when some of us go looking for his later, we're left with a complete blank?
Had the 0846 specific thread in mind for this as many who had their mind made up about the originality seem to have changed opinion lately and many people regularly attacking Steve have stopped posting altogether
A real time Wikipedia style knowledge bank as there are a lot of great threads that get lost over time and I find a lot of the questions I'm having now have already been answered years ago in threads.
there is ability to do blogs & FAQ's on FerrariChat, but no one ever wants to write them and few others want to read them. Lesson learned over the years users prefer to write and read an informal post vs. more thought out professional style. especially in the model specific forums there have been attempts to have an organizing thread where important other threads are listed.
Yeah but blogs are too individual and not set up to be edited by the crowd. I'm not sure fchat has the ability to set up a Wikipedia style page where any user can edit it. There are obvious drawbacks to it due to monitoring it, preventing trolls, fact checking etc but it could certainly expand the range of services fchat could offer. More in depth knowledge is currently only available in books that are either written or contributed to by fchat members and even they can be hard to get hold off, out of print etc. This could also serve as a good source of book recommendations as there are many books that are either pretty crap or just repeat the same things. I understand the informal nature of the forum as it is more fun to come and talk like talking to mates in a pub rather than a university lecture but sometimes it would be great to have much more technical and in depth information just a click or two away instead of trawling through lots of posts/information. I guess this would be like creating a mini Google/Wikipedia which probably means a it may just be an unreasonable idea for a forum in the immediate future. Continuing the riff a long term thing maybe an AI chat bot that you can ask questions instead of only relying for certain members that may or may not check the thread with the question.
Allow for higher resolution image uploads. I think currently everything gets downsized to 75k or so which is a pretty small file size. This results in uploaded images looking pretty poor in terms of quality/resolution/color.
Because we resize down under 800. We'll have to experiment if we allow higher resolution will it resize without scroll, that was problem in past.
Hey Fchat. A better search would be great. Also would be nice if Ferrari parts/ Collectibles was Ferrari parts and Ferrari Collectibles seperatly
Anyone else getting an "unresponsive script" error a lot? Something to do with the (new?) ad banner at the top of every Forum page?
I see that on occasion, and I suspect that some ad scripts are the cause of the page not loading below the ad on my Windows phone. Page reloads show a different ad followed by a full download.
A registry area where people can go in an add serials# and brief info. A well thought out format per model with date entered, location, miles, color combo and other specs/etc would be a very valuable tool to the community IMO. With the shear number of users/owners on the site a very comprehensive data based cold be created.
A nice run was done quite a few years ago - even polos, mugs & IIRC correctly, hats. Logistics & fulfillment were kind of a PITA even for a (former) moderator who could fulfill huge orders in his biz. I still wear the polo occasionally via Tapatalk
