Interesting statement in given the current climate of these cars. I really don't think anyone is modifying them at this point given the run-p on these cars. However, from the late 70's through last three decades the 75 to 79 cars were probably the most modified of the lot, followed closely by the 1980-85 "grey market" cars which were shunned or valued less until the last three yrs or so.

Its actually a little harder finding an unmodified car in my opinion. Although of course now we see many being taken back to stock so that number is rising.. technically.

    Just my observation..

I know of a 60 k mile original 930 available (original paint, fuchs, matching numbers etc) red/black can be bought for aprox. $70 k. Great deal IMO. no affiliation just a friends car. email me at [email protected] if you would like to be in touch with seller.
I hope this is not breaking any rules if it is mods please delete.

Smokin deal if it's a nice car. These cars can now easily cost nearly that to put right. (Basket case example).

Most likely true as recently many are frantically trying to cash in with an "newly made up to original or restored original ? " 930.

Modded is a broad brush. To return to stock, if now Modded ( upgraded ) with Porsche parts that were designed by Porsche to make up for the parts that destroyed the motor and other defesencies in the early development of the 930 make little sense. The obsession with returning all to it's original state is a reflection on a chapter Porsche, most likely, would rather forget. Sure a few examples of the original which need to be babied or museum kept, fine. I do have a few stock ones and believe me they get used the least. Of course some the modified 930s, in my opinion, take undesirable to a new level, but the obsession to return all to stock and anything else as essentially bad?, I will leave that opinion to those who do not have them both ways. The stock ones that were modded by those who had Porsche racing connections for improved performance parts were on the right track. Once fully developed and improved, the 930, 934,935 was/ is the best made by anyone. My 2 cents. In it's day the peoples super car. Even now a well modded ( using 30 + year old technology and parts), that were developed with the 930 program, a street version, from a performance oriented standpoint, or for a well built track 935 type, can stay with or very near the best performance models Porsche now builds 30 and more years later. Either way, what a car!

I have kept mine stock 100% but I did add factory Porsche Sport Seats (period correct) and I have order a momo prototipo. I feel these mods are easily reversible and they are things I desired for for some time. I can blame the momo prototipo on the many hours spent on Petrolicious youtube channel.

Has anyone seen the White 930 for sale in Seattle. It's on eBay. He has the wrong VIN listed on the Ad. He sent me a copy of the COA today and it doesn't match the Red Book. Does anyone have an insight as to what this car is?

The Red Book is not correct. Never been a trusted go to source for accuracy.

CoA identifies a Japan 1979 MY 930 VIN with correct apearing engine serial number sequence for same. Also note "Equipment for Japan" under Optional Equipment.

Thank you. You are of course correct. I must have had a senior moment there. There is a typo on these Japanese Models in the red book that has not been corrected across the editions. I need to make a manual correction in my book to remind me of these things. Thanks again for helping, I appreciate it.

The CN36's were never made in a 16" size, they were discontinued originally 6/73 to be replaced by SP57 & then SP60. The P7's have been re-introduced in 15" diameter sizes, maybe they will be re-made in 16" sizes as well.

460 is not a standard color code but looks like tobacco metallic to me.
