    Looking good.

To save on wasted tube trying to get the correct bends, I used flexible exhaust pipe to form the curves of the hoop within the cockpit on my project car, cross braced it to stop it moving then took it out and traced the outline onto a rigid board and used that shape to form the final hoop.

Saves a lot of time and material :)

It's been years since I bent tubes but I made at a minimum of 50 dragster chassis. Using scrap material, you can typically do a couple bends with Sharpe marker lines and figure the proper out come.

I realize I'm not explaining that correct, but no real need to make a mild steel mock up first. Just a matter of spending a little more time with the bender to know how to nail it on the first try. I would typically leave the legs long at cut them to length after the bends, especially in my case as I had to notch them to mate with other round tubing.

Thanks guys we have allot of tooling and design software to mock up tubing which really reduces wasted material. The hard part is once you get a driver inside the passenger seat and need to work around them. Originally the bar was to low cutting off the rear view from the car. This is mostly a street car so the cage bars will be hidden inside new pillar covers and headliner, fitment has to be perfect. This jobs already finished so I'm just back tracking now, it's already back in the shop getting carbon ceramics and boost.

Thanks Watson good to see you! I don't have the time to post as heavily as I used to but will try and put up our bigger jobs.

Great to see Bradan posting again. I look forward to seeing the carbon ceramics too, the 355 could save a heap of weight with that modification.

Ok get to the 6 speed conversion, interested in what you did with the shift shaft at the trans.

Did he spend $500 on a new one or make one?

Thanks. Not as much as you might think. The cost on the caliper/rotor set is over 28k so I doubt anyone else will do it.

Will get to that shortly. It's a CNC cut piece copied from an original shaft. Were trying to make a complete conversion kit since sourcing new/used parts is very difficult. It took a few months to just locate every single piece needed from wrecked cars.

We cut 10 pieces of every single part to the conversion to sell as a package, I can't split them up sorry. If you want a Cad file feel free to email me at [email protected] our engineer only works Thursdays I can have him send it over.

I think Johnny means he is interesting in the entire roll cage - not just once piece :)
