    Over the years of making this model for a client, I've been asked to post photos. Though I have hundreds of photos of this project (maybe thousands) I just don't have much time at all to sort through - select, and post, etc, But..... here are the ones that I finally selected. I hope they give everyone a little idea of just some of what went into this project, and of course that you enjoy seeing them. I'm really only showing the the very "tip of the iceberg" here.

    First I am showing the finished model, then the various progress photos.

    The early progress photos show start and midway, or finish of some of the countless parts that I made for this. The ones here are:
    Body reshaping which was EXTENSIVE, and done prior to molding, casting, and cutting open. The only area that I reshaped after casting was the grill opening which was much too large for an early series SWB such as 1905GT.
    Carburetor master, and final 3 built.
    Brake booster.
    SNAP exhaust tip.
    Bumpers - hand carved, then primed, polished, molded, cast, polished castings again, then sent to chrome plating.
    Fog light lens. Hand shaped, engraved, etc., Then molded and cast.
    The last photo shows me finishing with attaching Lic. plate lights to the rear bumper

    Regardless, what a labour of passion and love.

    I do not think I shall ask how much the model costs, as it possibly took me less time to restore my Dino, and that was not inexpensive.

    Other restorers can probably vouch about their time involved in any restoration.

    Very nice...A lot of care went into this one. I bet there are more people who can restore a real SWB than can build a model of one that good from scratch!!

    Thank you all very much. I greatly appreciate all of your responses, and kind words, and am humbled. I'm very glad that you've all enjoyed seeing these photos. Just trying to make a living here, doing what I am passionate about. Every project is a BIG learning experience......

    Here are 2 photos of the scratch built Talbot-Lago I completed before the 250 SWB. It was also 1:12 scale. My next scratch built is a Bentley Speed Six as raced at Le Mans. And..... completing and getting my limited edition Scarab models & kits into production (finally!).

    I love the Bentley..it will be a stunner for sure.....The Talbot is also insane...but if i had to pick one of your models i would take the 375mm!!

    Very nice work...I think your 250 SWB is the best so far, meaning 100% perfect. I like the 375 best also, but because the car was so amazing. The 375 has the best of the 500 TRC and 290/315S all wrapped into one, with a roof. I wish someone would make a model kit of it bigger than 1/43rd.

    Thanks Pedro. I'm not sure which one I would pick, but I am (sloooowly) building another Talbot-Lago for my own collection; making it as the car was originally built in two-tone blue and with a few detail differences.

    I had planned to make an SWB for myself as well, but the further I got into the build of 1905, the less, and less I wanted to go through any of that pain again! So no SWB for me except for two of my 1:24 CMA limited edition pieces that I have from many years ago.

    Thank you very much Tom; that means a lot coming form you - I love your builds, and can't wait to see the Cunningham Jag.

    I look at all my work with an extremely critical eye..... there are a number of details and areas on my SWB that I would have liked to have done differently (better)..... there's always room for improvement. Yes, the 1:1 - 375 Rossellini is an amazing car, and I am happy with my build of that one, but same comments as with the SWB.

    I appreciate your saying "perfect" , but I have to borrow a line from my occasional mentor, the late Manuel Olive Sans. He always told me that he had never built a perfect model, and if the day ever came when he considered one of his works to be a perfect build, then he would stop building. He never did stop.

    I agree with you about how great the real 375 Rossellini looks, and wanting a larger kit of one.... That would be great, and I would buy one.

    Interesting comments. As far as perfection is concerned none of these classics, being hand built, were ever perfect. Restoration of them tend to make them close to perfect which makes them look very polished and removes that special appeal of the original factory cars.

    Accuracy probably trumps perfection.

    In most cases a model is an interpretation and rarely an exact science. It does require an artistic finesse and perfection in a build can be boring imho.

    A "real Ferrari " was never perfect.

    Restoring one is an incredible mix of choices, and copying an original one in its restoration period, is virtually impossible as 'hand made', and not even that same person/builder can remake every stitch, weld, or shape exactly the same.

    When it comes to mechanical parts, that is another story.

    I think that applies to any man made, and arguably, robot made car.

    What is perfection? I certainly do not want to stir a hornet's nest :)

    Have you ever gone larger than 1:12? Some of the photos in Post #1 look like an actual real car.
