I think it's another trinity he was referring to when he said "someone doesn't want me to win this championship" More like "the good, the bad and the ugly"
Btw doubt Mercedes will introduce any engines' updates now as only Rosberg could use them and they would never hear the end of it from Hamilton and the press.
Just like Barcelona when the two Mercs crashed into each other. The roar across the track was deafening...first heard it coming from the back of us and you could hear it across the entire track as the rest of cars passed the people who didn't have a TV in front of them. I doubt it'd be any louder if it was Alonso leading! I seem to remember a certain 2008 championship being decided by a blown engine... I bet God wanted him to win that one then? Furthermore, I don't think Hamiltons 2016 campaign has been affected by ''bad luck'' that much, until only yesterday. His ''engine woes'' he likes to remind us of every waking minute, all happened in qualifying, China and Russia. China he started last, Russia 10th still. No points lost in Russia as he still finished 2nd, whose to say he would've won? 2014/15 Rosberg had the large share of bad luck, but that apparently doesn't factor in the championships. One way street I guess...
Lewis Hamilton right to vent his anger - Mercedes F1 boss Wolff - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com It later emerged Hamilton took the time to shake the hands of all those in the garage as the race continued behind him, while in a meeting in the engineering room at the circuit he delivered a rousing speech. "It's been really bad for him and for the team, I have no words and I am gutted in the same way [as Hamilton]," added Wolff. "But he came back into the garage immediately, and he went to see Bradley [Lord, director of communications], Niki [Lauda], myself and every single mechanic to say how he felt. "Afterwards we had a discussion in a small group and we were all really down from the incident. "Then we regrouped everybody, all the mechanics, engineers, and we had a chat to bring everybody up. "He said some great things about the team and hopefully that is going to help us recover from Japan. "Although being a driver, and very much frustrated and emotional about the situation, he was trying to pick up the team, which only the greatest do. "In such a moment, to come out and put yourself in front of the mechanics and engineers, and find words to pick them up for the next race, and encourage them, it was really great."
I don't like to see a driver been forced to retire due to a mechanical issue, so I somewhat feel for Lewis, BUT... - Let's not forget that engine blowing has happened often in the past, and at decisive moments to boot (just for instance: remember Suzuka 2006, anyone?), so, well: that does happen indeed from time to time, even if it is much more rare those days, and smart drivers know this... - smart drivers also know very well that even with a very superior car, you should stuff your backpack with all possible points as soon as possible, even very early in the season, because points threwed out of the window in the begining of the season will be sorely missed by the end of it IF something "unpredictable" happens... (surely anyone will remember a certain Grand Prix in Osterreich when Jean Todt ordered Rubens to give the victory to MS, because JT didn't want MS to lose four points that could be missed at the end of the season, even if the car was so superior to the opposition that it was laughable!) And I cannot escape the feeling that Lewis has been somehow not up to the task at the begining of the season, or too complacent, loosing too many points to Nico, and he is now paying the price of this. Irrevelant though, isn't it? He's shown the world with his initial reaction that he's simply a bad loser. No one will get out of his car with a big smile on his face moments after it went boom, but like Daytona said, look how Schumacher reacted when his engine went with only 1 race left and a 10 point deficit. Elton has 5 to go and there are far more points ready to be picked up, and a smaller gap that Schumacher faced (or Kimi 2007). This is not the first time that Hamilton has reacted this way and blaming others who work just as hard to achieve victory. Accusing anyone of sabotage is a huge insult and once again shows his immaturity. If he loses the championship he'll be sure to blame the team some more, and trust me, he'll leave out his own short comings and mistakes he's made that contributed to his loss of points. It's only after some serious PR, and a completely different reaction to his initial one, that he's changed his tune. I honestly can't get my head round why anyone keeps sucking it up or in any way supports him. He's massively unsportsman-like. If I where Mercedes I'd give very serious thoughts about sacking him with immediate effects. It's impossible to lose the championship as no one is close. They can finish 6th at every race and 1 5th and still win it, provided Ricciardo wins all of them. He's a disruptive force in the team and requires a HUGE amount of PR, and it's only me me me. Unacceptable for the amount of money he's paid. It's not his first season, he should know better. +1
Wow - no wonder LH is upset! Those figures look terrible, but I presume that includes the free units he accumulated by Merc's creative application of the rules at Spa? His stats are worse than McLaren - and that's really saying something. Also, worth noting the stats are pre-Malaysia, so even worse now...
It's interesting that the customer teams have each been through fewer units than the works team. I wonder if the works team is more frequently in a higher engine mode, and Hamilton using higher modes more often than Rosberg. That would explain the failure rates. All the best, Andrew.
LOL!! Total class here - Daniel Ricciardo dedicates Malaysian GP win to Jules Bianchi - BBC Sport "I want to dedicate this one to Jules. I've been waiting for a victory, waiting to dedicate this to him. "My life changed since that incident. I'm extremely grateful and appreciative of everything I've got," he said. LH might want to take a long look in the mirror about this 'blessings'. Ricci gets it right.
Customer teams have to ask Mercedes if they can use faster engine modes. Most notably this was denied in Austria 2014, Williams was very quick and stood a good chance at victory but Mercedes didn't allow the faster engine modes (despite using it themselves). +1 Great stuff from Ricci. Great guy he is as well.
More Hamilton facts: He still is the world champion with the most reliability, just 6% of his races have been ended due to a technical issue. But nooooooooo. Someone out there is making sure he doesn't win another title. After his first technical DNF this year. .
Thanks. Is there anywhere a website to look these up or are the only part of the official FIA pre-race distribution? The customer team stated before the beginning of the season that they intend to make it through to cut cost. Being to lazy to read up, I would assume they have a set contract for four PUs and then extra charge for each additional one. Engines are well understood and the effect of higher load onto components. Certainly, this increases risk, too. With regards to Hami's ICU failing yesterday I would think this didn't play a role, really. He was under no threat so he was surely running it on low settings and it was only race two. It might have been an old school material failure. Good for a certain Kiwi to be no longer on here. That figure would get you to court for murder by causing a head to explode.
Just finally watched replay of the race...and then read the last 266 posts. Did anyone mention Kimi at all? not a bad result considering he kept it clean despite Nicole barging into him. Great drive by Ricci and Max, Seb looking desperate nowadays. Lewis bad luck but we all know it wasn't MB intention, i put it down to Sid and his voodoo doll. Roll on Suzuka!
+1 And it's not as if his team have to physically lift him out of the cockpit after the race due to sheer exhaustion, as per Senna at Brazil. Hamilton whines like a kid who's had his Snickers stolen in the playground.
Just in case he still reads us... Lewis tweets at Spa in 2012 exposing the "unfair advantage" given by McLaren to J.B with a "special aileron" and showing datas from the qualis to the world to prove so... weren't even real: these were actually datas from the simulator...how naughty can one get? Button: "Lewis?s tweet? It wasn?t even real!" | Motor Sport Magazine Rgds
After the hit he lost .3 seconds per lap, if he didn't sustain the damage he did he would've ended on the podium...
Yeh ,that was a risky move by Nicole but he got away with it, despite the penalty. i was surprised Kimi didn't pull some crazy stunt when Max went to pass him,but he knows 2 wrongs don't make a right. Palmer got a point, not too bad either considering.
The touche's we used to see are long gone...the perfect that top on the wheels! Kimi is a smart racer, look at the space he gave Perez for instance. Yeah saw that Palmer got a point, good for him as he really needs it. Kmag still well ahead on 7 pts though.
Lewis Hamilton says he would be prepared to skip practice sessions in the five final races of the 2016 Formula 1 season if it meant protecting his remaining engines following his dramatic exit from the race. (Crash.net) No loss to see him off the track. The needless drama continues. The lack of practice worked really well in Singapore Lewis LOL. The world is not aligned against him. Engines have failed in the past......no kidding lol!
