Didn't it seem they weren't launching the cars?

Ill bet if one were drivign these cars on a track for say 10 laps, the mercdes and aston would be dead last and the Gt3 Rs would have moved up a couple of notches. It would probably be 918 still on top followed by the mclarens. Since its drag racing it woudl be inetresting to see what a porche turbo would have done.

The most inetresting bit to me was how very much faster the Porche 918 was than the Mclaren, every other heat was much closer, and we know a 918 is good on track too..

Something did seem odd about the launch. It seems they launch not at 100%.

I know a couple 918 and p1 owners, unfortunately they don't drive them much (less than 500 miles a year) because they are more of "an investment." Its not because they have multiple cars either. But they do drive their 911 or other sub 200k car they own more often.

This was a really cool video. Biggest surprises to me were the AMG performing as well as it did, the 675 just smashing everything and then just how much the 918 beat the LT even with a sub par (by 918 standards) launch. Nothing like a road car that can hit 200+ mph in a standing mile and deliver 25 mpg. The 918 is out of this world imho.

You can hear them holding the revs in each video as far as I remember, so they were definitely launching them. Launch quality will depend on the surface condition of course.

I believe they actually did several runs in each match-up. In the 570S vs F12, he said:

"OK, after 3 close runs, the F12 did eventually take the lead over the 570S."

The weight difference becomes super critical, that's where the 675 has it all over the F12.

But wow, the 918 is sooooo dominant. My goodness.

We drive the snot out of our 918. It's epic. I prefer P1 looks, but the 918 is so easy to drive fast. And sounds incredible. In need to post a pic here of a 0-100+ we did.

Good on you. Would love to see them. I guess I'm lucky in that I don't love the way the P1 looks -- if I had to pick a McLaren, I'd take the 570S or 570GT any day -- and let the 918 be the hypercar! :)

Think Porsche may have historically had a bit of a deficit in the cockpit/drama/sound department compared to F cars and some others, but I think with vehicles like the 918 and the GT3 RS that's kind of a thing of the past. Those cockpits are just awesome places to be, distinctly Germanic though they may be.

Obviously how a car looks and ones preference is their personal opinion...

I don' think anyone else is going to agree with you on the looks of 570 being better then p1.

570s performance was very surprising. I didn't think it would be able to hang around f12.

Not surprised with 675 beating f12

Having more weight over the rear end of the 675LT and sticky tyres helps as well.

I believe most LaF owners consider their car as investment, but still, it would be awesome to see LaF in some comparison videos.

From all hypercars now, 918 Spyder seems as working horse that everyone takes on track as some kind of benchmark. Porsche did great job making very fast and in same time very reliable car.

I spent some time driving the 918. It's remarkable.

Was this test in US or UK?

I always wonder about the fuel quality in all those tests.

For the F12 the test results for 0..60/100/etc are so different it is odd. And it has no turbos where a test car could be easily upgraded for tests.
