I can see some composite material 'weave' in the first image. The second image shows the legendary Downdraft engine - grown men have been known to stand silently & shed a tear... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for posting these Joe, saves me doing it ! Yes, some beautiful shots from Dan. Always fantastic to have him along. I'll have to get the thinking cap on for the next event . . . ;-) R
International! There should be cars coming from Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland etc. Time to work with the Clubs.

Looking up Lamborghini Convoy I came across Lambojack's epic image of the European Red Arrows passing very slow machinery in Italy... Image Unavailable, Please Login
What a story. It sounds very interesting! However it would be great if you post (when it'll be ready of course) the Octane issue number. Best
The wonderful Harry Metcalfe has posted up his video of the day. I love Harry's style and presentation. Such an easy chap to watch and full of great detail and story telling. https://youtu.be/CiZWIsmGxeg I suggest you watch on YouTube in full screen mode. Many thanks to you Harry, top man sir. R
Very nice. Did I hear him correctly at the 9:57 minute mark. The 88 1/2 has been converted to FI. Putting out 470HP and 400lbs of Trq? Impressive
Rob, you made Road & Track! Just Some Countachs Out on an Afternoon Drive Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rob, FWIW, you can embed the video by deleting the "s" like so: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiZWIsmGxeg[/ame]
Hi Roy, I personally can't confirm the figures. But yes, it's converted to FI and certainly starts very well. The owner is on this site, so maybe he'll chip in with whats been done to his car. It goes well enough! Rob
Harry! Did I hear him correctly at the 5:25 minute mark that you are taking the wing back off? Well done mate, glad you have fallen out of James May's influence! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Awesome! Great that there is some good exposure of these wonderful cars. Fame at last. I'll expect lines of gorgeous women lined up outside my house tomorrow. Wanting autographs of course ;-)
As several factory insiders have told me for 30 years, and was finally confirmed to me late last year by the engineer responsible for the Downdraft engine's continued production http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/144273809-post10.html, many engines saw @ 470 BHP on the test bench @ Sant Agata. I'm aware of a number of them, this one not included. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I am aware of this from postings. Standard Carb 449-455HP average and FI approx 420HP average So why does this FI 88 1/2 get all the way to 470HP, WAY above the average for FI and even above the average for Carb. I am confused.
Countach88.5 whose car it is, posts here fairly often, perhaps he will tell us. Once an engine has been modified post-production, the possibilities are endless.
The difference, probably, is a modern fuel injection system with not much to do with the original setup. The throttle bodies replace the carbs and use the factory intakes. Jenvey.co.uk sells them.
