It'll be a number of months because we want the car to be part of what will hopefully be a special feature.
thanks rob, still want to go quicker to..... hope this works, not very IT capable... will try and get a better scan later. added 5hp on for new air filters (if that doesnt work, will try go-faster stripes) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rob!! Your event is going viral, its everywhere, here it is on Jalopnik: Lamborghini Countach Owners Go To Kit Car Shows Just To Mess With You Great header in Jalopnik Many years ago I took a Countach to a Ferrari-only event. Someone came up to me and asked what the car was. I responded that the Countach is the Automotive equivalent of "Up Yours!" Quick question, do you think folks from the USA would be allowed next year? Maybe we'll organize a package thing. Seems like too much fun to miss! Great pic below with Paul in the lead. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does anyone know the whereabouts of ZA9C005A0HLA12187 today? First registered September the 15th 1987 to my good friend Greg Solomon via Portman UK. UK-registered E 734 KYL this was 1 of 2 Downdrafts that I kept circa 1989, I'd love to know where it is today. Image Unavailable, Please Login
In 1988, my Downdraft had a wing. Then I saw this issue of Performace Car magazine and I thought I'd try it without. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Salon Prive 2016 "This 1987 Countach 5000 QV entered by Harry Metcalf was the London Motor Show car of that year". Congrats again Harry. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Blimey mate! Impressive figures. This was on a rolling road right? So what do you think power would be minus the losses through the drivetrain? Normally people band about 5 - 15%. If so, your engine is very healthy!!! R
For generally being a fantastic Ambassador for these cars within the Classic Car world, you've Championed their cause the last 5 years in a significant way, and anyone who loves these cars surely must appreciate this. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Joe, be happy to have owners from "anywhere" join us on our next occasion! Appreciate its a big ask to ship cars over the pond. But any owner is more than welcome to attend. I'll certainly reach out to the Euro Lambo clubs for the next one. Shall see if we can get a few more cars along. I may change the format slightly which will be more of a weekend, Sat / Sun, which will suit those coming a longer way and enable the poor drivers to have the odd drink on the Saturday evening. Would suit me! In fairness, its my event but Harry's video. So credit where credit is due. Harry's vid and Dan's pictures are what is making this event popular. I just did the easy bit of booking a couple of venues and sending the odd email out ;-) R
Rob, We would be remiss if we did not thank you personally, without your idea 2 years ago, none of this would be happening! We wont forget, you are the Father of this event, and long may it continue & grow. I do think you can see cars coming in from other countries, and the Clubs is the way to go. You probably should have someone help you with the event, and a 2-day thing will become necessary if cars are coming in from abroad. Either way, BRAVO, you've helped put these cars in the map!
Road & Track updated their piece 2 hours ago Just Some Countachs Out on an Afternoon Drive with some new images from Dan Pluck! BTW, you take inspiration from other iconic makes/models, a client of mine belongs to the exclusive 250 GTO group of owners and they do the same Reunion thing every now-and-then! Hang on mate, you'll have me in tears in a minute. Appreciate your kind words Joe but the original idea was not mine. This came From Paul S ( White QV driver) who suggested it in the first place. I just ( with his permission ) got it going. will certainly speak to our Euro cousins. Before Brexit comes in. Ha. To see if they would like to join in our fun. Of course, you and I will chat a lot about the future events and I sincerely hope there is some US involvement as well. My best Rob
That's brilliant! I tweeted the author, Brian, the link to Dan's flickr page. Looks like he's done the decent thing?
I'm in touch with Paul, another great ambassador for the cars, yes, he mentioned it, but you got it done!
dunno, but I am doodling ideas for a set of adjustable trumpets so that I can find the optimum length (rather than the only ones that fitted the airbox) , and wondering if I got the optimum size throttlebodies (it was an informed guess). going to have to go back , want to see how she is running now and get a 2nd map to duplicate the original crackle and bang.... Trumpet clearance is important, as Valentino says, taller gaskets fitted under the air-box lid increases the space above the intakes and can add horsepower. At least this is the case with the carburetted cars.
Rob. Thanks for the credit but as Joe said you did it. Well done you. A weekend could be good I had reluctance to get people for the stay over but travelling as far as I do I had no real choice. 1300 km over a couple of days is a lot coupled with a lot of standing and chatting. See you next year. Paul
Great to see HLA12065 in fine fettle after so many years. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
