I am selling my black 1979 Countach with naturale leather interior, and gold "bravo" wheels after over 22 years of ownership. The car is in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition and very close to factory stock in all respects. Fifty-two recent (mid-August, 2016) images can be found at:

Detailed history and condition are given below:

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bFW8sqHUSzOIMc56s9Fm1s82u-zykUqQ1cxz2yU77Yg/edit.

A large website shows the car, some general history, interesting issues, and various technical matters over the past years. This material can be viewed at:

I saw this car at an event in Billings Montana a few years back.
    The car is absolutely beautiful.
It is a very honest car.

While I am saddened that you have made the decision to sell, I want to wish you the best of luck in finding the next (custodian) owner.

When I was chasing down an '81 S2 in 2008 (also a non original black car) I must have clicked in this car's website and read it at least 50 times. This was THE Countach in my mind. Not only the car and its spec... it was obvious it could not have had a better caretaker.

Someone is going to get lucky.

For those that have not had the pleasure of meeting David, I can tell you first hand that he is an exceptional owner and person and has been an incredible caretaker for this car for a very long time.

It's also worth saying that while we get some exceptional cars here on Fchat, cars with history and ownership like this only come up for sale here once in a blue moon; it is far more likely that they go to RM or Gooding or someone like Joe brokers it. This is certainly a rare opportunity for someone.

This is an exceptional car and a great opportunity for a Countach enthusiast. It was not that long ago that $100K was all the money for one of these cars and it is amazing how times have changed. On the subject of time it also hit me that when this car last changed hands in 1995 it would have been about the same as buying a first year Murcielago today as both cars would have been close to the same age. Where does the time go. Best of luck with the sale and for sharing it here.

It's nice to see them without wings! The original style is one of the top-five landmark designs of the 20th century. The pontoon-fendered Testa Rossa, the 308 GTB and the F40 are the only Ferraris that can be mentioned in the same breath, for discussion purposes. I'm talking about 100 years of automotive design, not just the 1970s-'90s.

The LP400S1, is cosmetically the most raw Lamborghini ever sold :D. The Miura driver's compartment is even more compact.

After reading his page a few times, I ended up drinking the Kool-Aid.

Agreed, David is quite the gentleman caretaker, and I've been aware that its not been an easy decision to sell. I recall the car from even before David bought it 22 years ago, and the first one to bring him $700k can be the new caretaker.
