Looks French. Amilcar or Salmson?No.
Damn, I was hoping you were asleep Wayne. I had just found this Fiat 804. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You were so close! I just got in to the office, sat down at my desk, and fired up the computer, so you would have had it if I'd made my usual stop downstairs to grab Starbucks. Fortunately for me, I already had two Red Bulls before leaving the house this morning!
Unfortunatelly, Biagio Nazzaro died in this race, near my hometown. There is a small memorial not far away. His oncle Felice Nazzaro won the race. Do you know that there is a connection with Ferrari. Vittorio Jano was involved in the development of these fantastic FIAT racers. Unfortunatelly Giovanni Agnelli stopped racing in 1927 and the Reparto Corse went to the scrapyard with all the cars. A shame no one survive today. There is a very interesting book about the FIAT racers.
Judging by the setting, it looks like it's parked in the British section of a local car show. So it's a special bodied "something British and from the late 50's, early 60's". Based on a Jag XK?
Sorry gentlemen (and lady, if you're participating), but I'm afraid I may have to issue a temporary recall on this one. I just discovered that I have the image mislabeled, so at the moment, even I don't know the details on exactly what this things is. I can either post up a substitute, or if you guys prefer, I can leave this one up for you to try and solve until I have time to do some digging for the exact identity. The only problem is that I'm going to be short on free time for the next few days, and without a positive ID, I won't be able to answer any questions or provide hints.
I'm going to go ahead and withdraw the last one. I spent some time looking for an accurate identification yesterday and found no quick answers, so it's only going to stall the thread at this point. Eventually I'll have time to accurately ID it, and then I might throw it back into the mix when it's my turn again. Until then... Here's the replacement: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Based on the zeppelin/cigar shape of the back of the rear quarter panel, is it at least a Touring body?
Sorry to do this to you, but you're still wrong. Look closely at images of the two cars side by side and you'll see the differences. But there is a reason for the striking similarity between the two.
You're referring to the same car, only by a different name. This is not the Jowett; but an entirely different car (different make and model). Obviously, the bodies are very similar, so figure out why and that should lead you to the answer.
