Countach QV 88.5 - photographed by me on 8th of August 1988 in Göteborg/Sweden. Wondering if somebody knows this car - seems to be US spec. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Could be the car i saw at Lasse Jønnson beeing delivered to Father/ son from Gøteborg. (If red interior) they traded inn the 86!dd i was driving/ looking to trade for my 328 gts. Do not remember the bumper. But sweden had very strange/ odd rules for import. Perhaps the us bumper thing shortcutted part of these regulations. Imo very likely to be the same car. Good memories.
Thanks for sharing but I have to point out this is a Downdraft-dedicated thread and it looks to be a FI car, so it belongs here http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/lamborghinichat-com-sponsored-cats-exotics/163765-countach-ultimate-supercar-1146.html
Never seen this one before: French-spec (as evidenced by yellow driving-lamps) 1988.5 Downdraft featured in Dream Cars collection cards, erroneously noted as a 1989 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not only did AUTOCAR test C 705 BYX @ Bruntingthorpe, but for the July 1987 issue of Performance Bikes, the magazine pit it against a Superbike and a racing truck as well! Insanity. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
180 mph with a wing and with a box-muffler exhaust is seriously impressive! Measured by Leitz Correvit Test equipment. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So, the Alpine amp regulators are mounted in the original factory-built tray, thank you fir saving that for us Raymond! These are some components I couldn't get my hands on prior to install, so they'll receive a cleaning now that they are wired & operational. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Really good luck because more than 10 years ago I almost threw them away... This is the only Picture I have when they were still in place in 2001, I have to scan the old Pictures for higher res. http://www.countach.ch/MyQV/gla12997_82.jpg
FLA12831 always looks good, good luck with the show, and if someone says they want a Downdraft, call me! I can't promise one like this though
So grateful you kept it, and we could bring it back to original spec. By the way, your website on the car has been really helpful to the guys in figuring stuff out!
Nice looking machine. What are the two holes, (at least they look like holes) on the front air dam...was a license plate there??
I think it would look cool with a Euro front plate back on it..but thats just me I guess..enjoy the show. I should be back down there as well to wrap some things up, hope I have time to swing up to it.
That would be cool. Though those grommets are not in the typical location. Easy fix either way. I was asked by the organizer of the event to bring the SE30 and the DD. Not typically my thing, but he was really excited about it so I obliged.
Its a Swiss-spec car as you probably noted from the turn-signal lens position. Some Swiss Countach owners mounted the plate on the lower spoiler as opposed to the bumper front. In fact, the factory did this as well with EE plates.
