Every year i have the pleasure to assist to the biggest classic-car show in Latin America, called Autoclásica in San Isidro, Province of Buenos Aires.

Every year we go expecting to see something that we never saw before, but we don´t have that pleasure very often, as the classic car market here is not as big as it is in Europe or USA.

BUT, sometimes, we get surprised by the few big collectors we have in Argentina, when they bring any car that they never shown before.

This is the case of this year´s Ferrari 250 LM 5845, that lives in Argentina since 2007, but was shown only once a few years ago in a private dinner where i couldn´t assist. All the rest of the time, it lives in the best car collection in Argentina, in a fantastic garage with their own circuit.

This car is something from another world. More when you see it surrounded by more normal cars.

This wasn´t the only great car at Autoclásica today (it opens from today until Monday), as there are, for example, a Toyota 2000GT, Alfa TZ, Maserati 250F, Maserati 4CLT, a bunch of Ferrari´s like 250 GTE, 250 GT 2+2 2nd Series, Dino´s, and a looong etcétera.

The another 2 cars that im showing here are the 1 of 2 Ferrari 166 FL, chassis 013F that is owned by the ACA (Automóvil Club Argentino, very famous by it´s history), and the 250 GT Boano 0643GT, recently restored.

    Have a good weekend,

    Nicolás.

I sold 5845 to France many years ago (back in 2002). At the time, it was White.

No. Originally Rosso Cina with Nero interior.

26 May 1964 the Certificate of Origin #4333 was issued by the factory and car sold the same day to first owner Gottfried Köchert in Vienna, Austria.
Only in the fall of 1965, when sold via Chinetti to Arthur W. Swanson of Roxbury/MA it was repainted white with a blue longitudinal stripe. Later on it was repainted light yellow, then red, then white again.

Following the sale at RM Maranello 18 May 2008 the car sat almost two more years at Ferrari Classiche (2008/2009) during which period they "improved" lots of details to their liking/approval. They also added their famous Classiche logo next to the chassis number and restamped the engine number on the raised boss.

I hope those "improvements" included better/safer choice for brake line tubing. Ones in these photos appear a lot like standard (soft) copper tubing.

IS she back to Rosso Cina or in Rosso Corsa?

The 250 LM is definitely in my top 5 Ferraris with the P4, 312P, Daytona Comp and the Sperimentale.

From what I can see I think a few people mean that the red Lm in the first post is not 5845? obvious differences from the car leaving Maranello and the one shown in the first post are the wiper arrangement and the front side light and headlight chrome trims

    Agree.

#5845 left the Ferrari factory in 2009 (assuming photo date is correct: Marcel's photo) and was Classiched, and yet the recent photo in the first post of this thread shows a very different car.

So has somebody decided to modify a Classiched car ... surely nobody would do that (wiper arrangement is different and of poorer design [my opinion] and the side lights) ... or we are looking at a very good replica. Maybe the owner had a replica made to use while the original sits in a large "safe"?

Marcel what is your view please?

Or maybe the Classiched one is the copy :) that VIN has been added to the chassis by them!

    Ooops.....

This photo shows 5845 leaving/exiting the factory but this does NOT mean that by that date the car was already finished, completed and fully certified, not all work was done by the time of the photo. It is just a pic showing 5845 going out onto Via Abetone Inferiore in Maranello. 5845 stayed a very long time at the factory after the RM auction.

As for possible post-certification modifications, in general, I know of many owners that had their cars modified AFTER certification was completed (red book in hand), especially engines and wheels and exhaust systems, dashboards, headlights, front grilles and exterior rear view mirrors, also on a number of 275 GTB's etc.
Happens all the time. Doesn't surprise me at all. Nobody really cares. All they want is the red book and then..........
