I recently received a set of OEM wheel centers to replace the ones that came on my '05. I believe they were original, but the two fronts were a bit cracked and one rear was looking a little worse for wear as well. However, I noticed that the shade of yellow on the new ones is a bit darker. Is this normal, or did the originals fade?

The car only has 9600 miles, and from what I gather, hasn't spent much time sitting in the sun (still looks/smells new inside). The one on the left came on the car, the one on the right is the new one (PN# 226245):

I almost forgot to mention something... there was another thread where people were talking about re-using the rubber o-ring - transferring them from the old center caps to the new ones. However, it was my experience that the o-ring is too thick to allow the new caps to snap in securely, so I left them off. The two versions also have a slightly different design on the back.

The right hand side horse seems to be a bit over weight... Like the left one a LOT more!

I just ordered new ones for my 360 and I seriously hope they will have the "thinner" horse on 'em.

The left side were replaced a few years ago by the type on the right. Left is NLA.

My picture just isn't that good. The detail on the cavallino is the same on the new ones, which I bought from YOU 🙂

So, is there a good source for used parts for these cars somewhere? I'd prefer to get the older style ones that look a bit faded in comparison to the new ones. That way, they would match the shields and hood emblem too.

Agreed, the older style caps look better on the car. I too bought new caps to replace cracked ones on my car. I will be putting the old ones back on and living with the cracks, the yellow in the new caps does not match the color on the shields as the old ones do.

Sooo - got my new centers today.
Bought from Eurospares and the cavallino on these have defenitely not been on diet.

I have to agree though regarding the chrome edge. And they are also a lot more "easter" yellow...

You do know that Eurospares has the original-style one (PN 108947) in stock, right? I ordered a set yesterday along with a set of the silver ones with the raised chrome horse.

The originals do fade over time - I just had mine replaced.

But that new one in your picture sure doesn't look OEM to me - the shape of the horses tail is just plain wrong! Are you getting those from the dealer/eurospares or from EBat?

    Eurospares! Brand spankin' new!

The tail starts to look stranger and stranger: Have any of you been in Venice? Those gondolas have something similar looking in the front of the boat:

Ah well - I'll order a new set (correct one).

I am having difficulty with my eurospares ordes. They keep telling me my Visa card is declining the sale and my credit card company insists the issue is on eurospare's end.

Call your card company and let them know it is a legit overseas charge. Same happened to me and call resolved the issue.

Been there, done that (3 times)! They keep telling me that Eurospares charges for the total the. Rescinds the same amount. The. When I email James Cottrell at eurospares, he tells me the bank is declining the charge. Frustrating to no end.

Finally got my order with Eurospares to go through (had to use a different card... keep away from Amazon Visa card by Chase Card Services). Anyway, in addition to the original 'paler yellow' caps, I ordered a set of the silver painted ones with the raised horse emblem in chrome. I thought they might look classy. Anybody have these installed? If so, I'd like to see pics :)

What part number did you use to order the older style caps, 108947 ? Did not see them on the eurospares website.

They have the part number listed as 108947/A, is that what you ordered? They will fit OEM F430 wheels?

Not sure about the "/A", but maybe? All I know is, I talked to James Cottrell there and he assured me they were remaining original 10+ year old stock (brand new though). 2 of my current set are in good shape, one is slightly cracked, and the fourth one looks as though it was bashed with a mallet by some ignoramus who didn't know they merely press in with the fingers!

Ok well I just ordered the 108947/A part number wheel caps, they were only $26.25 a piece. Also ordered a few other things I needed for my car, and eurospares by far has the best prices that I have seen in my short ownership experience.
