God people are tetchy on this thread

I love my FF and would not want to be without it. Would I get a Lusso if I could afford it, probably not right now as I am happy with the FF and the Lusso does Not seem like a quantum leap and I do not want to stomach the depreciation inlvilved (even if I could afford it, which I cant). Having said that, once my FF can't get a new warranty any longer and Lussos are trading in the 150-200k Euro bracket, I will probably switch. i am just too scared to run something like an FF out of warranty - by that time I will have done 20-30k km a year in it and it will have been well worth the money. I just drove from Munich to Croatia and the car is perfect for that - dog (in the front seat) plus friend in the car and it just crushes the miles/takes the luggage and feels great be it on a highway or on a coastal road.

The FF is great at what it does and the Lusso will be the same - both are the perfect daily driver for people who appreciate Ferraris and esp Ferrari V12s while still needing 4 seats and 4wd. I would prefer an FF with 200kg less weight and a lot less comfort/sound insulation/leather etc though, but cant have everything .... This is better than anything else on the market

I agree, my dealer has a brand new FF in a gorgeous spec, and my wfe was pushing me to buy it. Instead I ordered the GTC Lusso after seeing it at the factory. I think the rear of the car is much improved looking along with numerous technical upgrades. Buyers will decide by voting with their money, the rest is BS. If you bought an FF I can understand not wanting to take the hit on the upgrade to the GTC. Everyone who can afford is entitled to vote with their checkbook and should do what they like after their own due diligence.

Which aspects about the car are giving you this worry?

New Power warranty covers 80% of the car, excludes nothing major. You can get it for 12 total years.

There are no major expenses with a New Power warranty until brakes, and so far no one is there yet, or has posted about it. 60,000 miles maybe?

Power warranty is BS (only good for engine and gear box - 2 strongest points of the car) and I have had to completely replace my brakes (both sides rear)at 22,000KM!! I had somehow managed to strip-off the welded bolts....🤔

Brakes are never covered. Engine and gear box are very expensive.

You did pads or rotors? I was talking about rotors?
Are you driving in rain and snow a lot? More slippage in the rear.

Wow, first time I have seen those fail. What was the failure cause given by the dealer? were the rotors actually worn past 100%, or was the bolt issue the cause for replacement?

They can't identify the reason for the bolts being stripped clean off the backside of rotors. Which they only discovered after 4 visits to the garage (dealer)

6900 for bolts and labor? Pads also?

I was talking worn rotors ... which are a lot more :)

My dealer told me about a client who tracked his FF hard for a weekend a couple of times and required brakes and tires. Total bill was $34,000.

Probably had the traction control on and took out the rotors. Rears grab a lot in normal conditions, especially on track. Fronts obviously get a lot from any track day.

Around $30,000 for rotors is what I was told (dealer price).

I just had my car back from service today. I must admit, I really missed it - it was in the shop while I was away for 10 days and required a part (supplied and fitted under the used warranty, which I assume is the power warranty) so wasn't ready when I arrived home. Had to wait over the weekend and there were a number of occasions when it was the right car to use but I obviously couldn't.

Anyhow, discs 40% worn after 25,000 miles. I reckon whoever said discs at 60,000 miles was pretty spot on. Given that the FF is a car that can be used for bigger mileages, I'm not sure that carbon rotors was the best idea. I think stainless would have been a better long term option, although not as hi-tech image.

It will make more sense to have a set of iron rotors ready and swap them on if you need to track it.

I was planning to track my FF after picking it up this Friday, but these posts are making me reconsider. I could care less about tires and pads, but the potential lack of rotor durability is serious buzzkill.

You can get the rotors refurbished though which is a lot cheaper than buying new ones

Who makes iron rotors for the FF? Girodisc's website has rotors for 458. Are 458's rotors compatible with FF?

    Just got back from Italy and having spent a good deal of time pouring over an October build production Lusso I can confirm the;

Front horse is metal on a black backing plate,
The Leather (ciouo in this instance) was the same quality as used before
The seat backs were black leather
What appears to be plastic air vents are in fact very thin aluminium as are all the silver or grey internal trim sections. Weight saving, no matter how little has been the brief.

The car felt very planted on the Autostrada, changing direction by way of telepathy rather than wheel input. Very easy to drive very fast and even with deliberate weaving at over 240 kph never felt unsettled. Comfort mode is purely for tootling along but Sport offers the full fat performance plus the visceral top end howl.

    In comparison with the FF;
The Lusso engine spools up more quickly.
    The extra torque is noticeable
The Lusso gearbox is now faultless
The new seats are very comfortable
The Lusso interior feels less handmade
The Lusso cabin is more insulated and a calm place to be when touring
The Lusso ride is noticeably more compliant in Comfort
The throttle response is more subtle but still brutal if prodded.
The FF is definitely less refined, which may suit some.
The FF bonnet is more powerful looking, which I prefer
The Lusso rear quarter looks more estate esq which I dislike
The Lusso Air vents feel cheap....Hyundai standard YUK !!!
The vertical crease on the rear quarter post looks cheap and mass produced. (I'll have this fettled out by a magic hammer guy) What were they thinking?
The Lusso looks much smaller than the FF on the road.

All in all the game has moved on and it is in my mind a better car which has a few elements I dislike and some I detest.
