Problem with these sort of cars, with very low KM's is that most of the value is in the low KM's. you drive it, you lose. I suspect whoever buy's this will be a collector that will put the car on display and or in storage. A real shame, as these cars are meant to be driven.
    Just my 2 cents worth.

Very nice original car. No stories, etc. Was sold by my father years ago from its original owner to Tony Rienzi.

From some of the photos it could use a little love in the front bonnet. Going to yell at Tony.

I was in the area on Saturday and stopped in to have a look at the LP400S. Wonderful car and I was reminded how much better a Countach looks without the rear wing. Also parked next to it was a 25th anniversary car and I was again reminded how much the Countach design got butchered with the passage of time. The early cars are so much more clean and pure in their design while the later cars look more and more like kits.

Yes Joe is correct. The SW gauges are more common than you might think. Sold at many speed shops, used in kit cars and boats etc. This one is currently on eBay for $75, a little rough, but several of the other gauges are on there.

I'm afraid to hear the answer....but why do ya think this black QV has been sitting on ebay for so many months at 295k. Seems like a bargain. When was the last time anyone bought a CT for under 300K?

Honestly, a 30,000 mile Countach is most likely in need of a ton of work or even a cosmetic restoration.

Buyers today want jewelry! Cars that may have miles that have undergone complete restoration or cars with extremely low mileage that are incredibly preserved.

  11. The price is 259K now. Wrong shift knob, and US bumpers. IIRC the engine was rebuilt. 23k miles on the car. George Evan stickers, so a quick call to him might answer why it has not sold. Some decent photography, i.e. the glamor shots like everyone else uses, would also go a long way with a real description.

"and US bumpers",,,,it's a US car. Is that a negative that it has the CORRECT FACTORY INSATALED BUMPERS ???? What am I missing ? No one likes them but it's correct for the car !

Not to speak for Joey, but I think his reference to the US bumpers was meant to be what you just spelled out.

  14. We all have a favorite version of the Countach, but a safe guess would be that none think "if it just had that US bumper treatment!". On the flip side, the traffic situation around me keeps getting heavier...I don't know if I would remove them now. Appearance wise the euro version is much cleaner.

I'd jump on that one if I was in the market for a CT. Shift knob and bumpers are a pretty easy fix. Serviced by Evans is good news. 23K sounds about right or even a bit low for a car that's 30 years old. Less than 1000 miles per year. The car runs better when it gets driven often.

Am I wrong? Am I way out of touch these days?

Getting the correct shift knob is not an easy fix, I think the big problem is the side skirts, and how much it would cost to correct that. Does $10k to $15k sound right ??

Probably more than that, if I had to guess.

    1.) Front Bumper
    2.) Side Skirts
3.) Holes in the rear bumper have to be filled and welded
4.) Sourcing the OEM tail light surround and trunk panel.

  19. What is a shift knob going for now?

  21. Yes, I've noticed you have posted that. Surely Emilo or Scott has one? Maybe George? I have one, but don't want to part with it, just curious of the values.

I think someone with a pristine example would ask more, like double that.

Fortunately I have a pristine one in my GLA12997, but I need another for a gentleman client.
