Today seen at the most important Classic Car fair in Salzburg.....: 550 Matanello grigio titanio, black leather, appr. 50.000 km, very nice condition, but leather shrinkage at the dashboard and some wear at the bolster of the driver's seat, sticky as well... 109.000 575 F1, already sold when arrived by today, black metallic with cognac interior, nice, but not perfect condition, shrinked leather around the dashboard as well.... Both cars otherwise in good condition, no informations regarding their service history Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Nettwerkjohn I sent you a pm a few days ago but not sure you have received it yet. I'm pretty sure it is the same car. There were only two ever in the UK in this colour and I suspect only 1 first registered in 1996 with a grey interior. I hope you liked the photos. An absolutely lovely car, and one which I have very very happy memories of.
My friend who used to own it was telling me that it was in this car that he set his own personal record of the number of cars overtaken in one move. Apparently he overtook 15 cars at once on a single carriageway road which is quite something on our congested roads over in England.
a serious head case, Rupert; suppose any one of those fifteen cars had pulled out to pass - whilst he's running at - what? - 150 kph or more?
Difficult to be certain Seth without having been there, but point taken - the intention was not to boast about heroics from the very distant past but to pass on a little bit of the history and happy memories of this lovely car to the current owner.
Yes they were Khan 18 inch jobs. Car was in lovely condition with a healthy mileage on the clock(80k+ from memory).
I'll check the paperwork when I get back in country, but yes, it does sound like the same car. It had been let go in the last 8 years before it came my way, but she is getting plenty of love now. I drive it in a similar fashion. Every trip is an occasion, and overtaking at 150, well, that's just third gear... These cars deserve to be driven. Of course I have many more photos of my baby, but posting them seems problematic over our satellite internet. .
"These cars deserve to be driven". You are 100% correct sir ! I have 72,000 miles on my 550 ! I should say very happy miles!=
