Does anybody have any photos of a Capristo Twinsound installed in a M2.7 355?

I can see that the design should increase flow as there is no merge point like the standard Y-pipe, but there's no way those two inlets will line up with the bypass take-offs on the manifolds.

Have people had to have something fabricated to fit this? Or perhaps there's some other part sold by Capristo that's not pictured?

    Thanks
    Steve

Are you certain its for a 2.7? As you say there are no way the secondary tubes would meet the header outlets are as they are up turned on the 2.7 headers.

This looks like if the pipes were rotated or swapped they might mate to the 5.2 headers which have a straight outlet on the secondaries.

I've seen this posted before and don't understand how it will fit 2.7 or 5.2

Yeah I dont think its for a 355 if it was must be from a complete custom exhaust

I thought it does not use the bypass but has twin valves on either side of the exhaust.

Perhaps but the two entry pipes are too close together

Those entry pipes rotate so they may not be at the correct angle in that picture. When they rotate they become further apart.

So what do you do with the upper outlet on the headers that normally go to the Y pipe?

This is what I was saying in the first reply. Rotating the pipes might allow it to mate directly to the headers, I still think with the straight angle the pipe sits might not fit the upturned header outlets that are on the 2.7 header.

The capristo twin sound still uses both the upper and lower header outlets, it just increased flow by situating two bypass valves all the way down the exhaust path near the muffler and eliminating the bottle neck. A similar solution is used on 360 and 430 exhaust bypass setup.

If you turn those it might fit. Mine s the new design and thise pipes are now fixed with a mesh flex joint.

Basically the exhaust bypass connects directly to the headers with a fairly straight shot out. It does not go to muffler and has no cats.

The other header connection goes from header to cat then to muffler.

The muffler itself also has threeo holes on each side, 6 total that also allow flow when the muffler sees to mich volume i think.

Same as this without the connectors on the bypass but where the connections are it has a flexjoint.

Youncan see the flex joint in the small upoer right pic of the link above

I think those pipes are also swapped end for end. If you did this then it might work.

As said previously on the 2.7 the angle comming on bypass is turned up and in.

Those pipes need to be swaped side to side.

Ie left pipe needs to go over to right side and when you do this you will see the angle will line up.

Grant's exhaust pretty much achieve's "holy ****, daisy cutter status with this and with the Gruppe M airboxes when he loads up next to you...

I love my higher pitched sound 3, but yes, his setup will impress you and keep you laughing for a long time at how loud it is... :D

I have had the original capristo exhaust for the last 12 years. This feeds into the Y piece catalyst via the original by pass valve.
So looking at this new set up above, it deletes the top Y piece catalyst. Is that correct, no cats?
So potentially with bottom straight pipes and this new system, there will be no cats on the car?

As said above all correct but if you want it to meet emmisions just throw in the cats on the main circuit.
