Yep, that's what it looked like to my eyes as well. There actually was a lava orange 991 RS on the same drive and although I didn't see the cars side by side, the tdf did come across like the lava orange.

Strange. 250 stripe is red, white and blue but tdf is red, white and green. Not too much of an homage I guess... SV
One of the Lusso pix is reversed anyway, not a RHD. Stripe has been changed several times. Earlier the stripe was not in the center but on the left side of the car. And Lusso 5847 GT was born Grigio Argento 18940 M Italver with Nero VM 8500 interior. Not yellow. The below photos all show 5847 GT over the last 50 years. Following major repairs in 1970/1971 Tom Trana, a famous Volvo and Saab-Scania works rally driver, resident in Gothenburg, Sweden, drove this Lusso 5847 GT in various road rallyes in Sweden 1972 to 1974. Marcel Massini
Think that is green but not quite the same color. One display shows it looking blue but another looks dark green. Another image is reversed. But the green on the tdf is distinctly lighter. SV
WOW.. It's history in pictures! And imagine that these cars today keeps their value in high level. Thank you for sharing Mr Massini
So it is... May I present my spec for my TdF. This was designed today at the Tailor Made Studio in Maranello and I love it! It might not be too obvious what is going on with these renderings but the car is bare aluminum. No paint and no primer. The bare aluminum is then covered with a semi-gloss clear coat. The interior uses a classic race leather similar to Cuoio but with a lot of grain and marbling. Carbon Fibre is all matt blue! Enjoy! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
wow, unique spec for sure! I didn't know bare aluminum under a clear was an option. Please share some photos of your cars when it arrives, really curious to see the end result !
Since Tailor Made was founded, there have been only 4 cars with bare aluminum built. 3 are in the U.K. Mine will be the 4th.
I'm sure the final result will be outstanding. Any chance you have any pictures of one of those 3 other bare aluminum car ? That really poked my curiosity
Love the spec - curious as to how they treat weld lines and other casting imperfections so that it appears as smooth clean aluminium - must be an art form in itself. Would also be interested in the interior which sounds unique. Looking at something along these lines for F12M so would be interested in seeing the Tailor Made PDFs if you're willing to share?
Can't wait to see the pictures of the real deal. Very unique spec. Big congrats ! Bare clearcoated aluminum finish must present a unique challenge to Maranello ....no hiding the metalwork whatsoever.
