I wanted to get your guys opinion on custom titanium headers for the 355. Cost would be less than a set of new Tubi headers...but setting that aside, would there be any other benefits besides reduced weight?

Any drawbacks? Heat containment issue? Would it maybe sound better?

What do you guys think? :)

You would have the benefit of replacing them about every 1000 miles if you run the car hard.

Titanium is NOT the material for high quality headers (321 or 347 Stainless is the ticket until you can afford Inconel.)

Titanium would be a big mistake for f355 engine there is a reason why you don't here too many people making them even for the mufflers they don't last as long. Like Mitch Alsup said unless you don't mind replacing often Inconel is the way to go but $$$$$$$$$$$$$ 321 would be next and so on.

I have a titanium catback exhaust on my Subaru STi...ultra light weight, very thin wall thickness since there's no need for corrosion allowance. Mine broke at a bend just from vibration / heat, maybe 1000 miles, 4 months (with a few long autocross days in there as well). Definitely not suitable for headers...

Hope my titanium hip replacement does not fail from the heat and vibration cycles

Titanium for the tips are fine, for the pipes out of the muffler are fine, these see no more than 700ºF, whereas the Header primaries see 1200ºF+ (skin temps), and the secondaries see 1000ºF+. The mufflers may see in the 800ºF if you run the crap out of the car for more than 15 minutes without letting off.

Yep, otherwise 321 SS, then 304 as a last option
