Other cars in that category included Porsche 935, Lancia Beta Montecarlo and the wide bodied BMW M1's

(a kind of pumped up GT prototype category!)

Wrong model year; 1986 is different from 1985 and the S4 prototypes/mules
MFH did the 1985 coachwork (defenitely the doors)

That must have been a prototype that they changed during prep for production. I think we agree it looks good now.

Tour de Corse 1986 car is not same as MFH
I just checked the Lancia S4 book. MFH is 1985!

Yes but in 85 the car didn't run the tour de corse...if i'm not mistaken the car made i'st debut in "Rali Algarve", that didn't count for the W. championship and went on to win the Rac rally at the end of the season. The S4 then made a full season in 86, actually winning it with markku Allen, but later the FISA altered the results and Juha kankkuinen became w.champion with Peugeot.....

The 1/24 S4 looks better now, I still think that the windshield pillars and roof around the doors could have been made thinner, door window frames also, allowing for slightly bigger side windows. Still, I,m sure it will turn into a verynice model kit if built with care, and possibly some improvements can be made. Perfect to go along with the 037, and surely a much better model than any other S4 kits previously produced in this scale.

The car is a 1985 model S4 with 1986 Tour de Corse livery
