Thanks Robb. Was there a weight limit for these races? The corner balance info will tell you if the car was any lighter than the others.
There was a minimum weight stated in the regulations booklet each year. I will look it up when I get back to AZ. I have the regulations booklets for North America for all years and '99 for Europe. Robb
LOL just messing with you. The car has been through several owners not much left as it was back in the day
I don't think so, Tim. There are those tall skinny girls with bushy hair standin' out there by the track.
My Mom used to race sidecars back in the late 40's early 50's out there She was not tall or skinny I know it was all open farmland
I have clarification for Tim from Tom Papadopoulos on his challenge cars: Tim's white car - the 1995 - serial 102457 - was used by Tom in the 1996 season only. It never raced in the challenge series again in later years. I will have to look at my new records to see his record on finishes for the car. Tom then ordered a new car (also in white) a 1997 - serial 107882 but it did not arrive in time for the first race, so he drove a second 1995 (in Red) for one race where he won at Sebring in 1997. That car was sold to Frank Ventemiglia who continued to drive it in the 1997 season. Then for the rest of the 1997 season - starting from the second race, Tom drove 107882 to both championships in '97 and '98... Hope this helps. Robb
And because I could not remember the finishing order for the F355 driver series in 2001: It was 1. Phillip Shearer 2. Michael Louli 3. Ken Rice Robb
Another short video added to Youtube showing the 348 challenge driven by Neal Heffron at Gaston Andrey Ferrari (Ferrari of Boston). https://youtu.be/j9lPHsOmhfw Enjoy. Robb
And the full 1996 race from Montreal with 348 and F355 challenge I won't give away the results but one owner's car here takes the checkered flag. 45min of good stuff. https://youtu.be/XmB3VSrsYqY Robb
Awsome, exactly what my dective work was. I believe Kurt Carlson drove it one year in challange possibly 97 then was sold off. Being it has orig title its in carfax which is pretty cool When I get the full deal on it I can forward it to you I do plan on a 2-3 year resto on it to white with the stripes and the number plate. Have the original bright white custom interior same as the Miami vice car
Barry, Oui vos roues sont superbes en bleu. Il était passionnant de voir votre voiture gagner la course à Montréal. Passe de bonnes vacances. Robb
Yes Tim, Your car after Tom Papadopoulos in '96 went to Kurt Carlson who raced it in all years thereafter from '97, '98, '99, '00, and '01. That is a lot of races... Hope that helps. Robb
Yes, have a good Thanksgiving holiday, Robb. Barry Attached are the race results. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's fun seeing my car in action twenty years ago! Blue wheels would look cool!! . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just watched the video. love it Tom drives like I do by sound. ooops just schooched someone, should have used a lubricant LOL
I really like the no wing look, very sexy LOL wife just asked what I'm doing I said same as Barry and Robb
The wing is off my car now. It needed to be re-clear coated. The clear coat was peeling away. I guess I'm driving too fast. I agree, Tim. I might just leave it off.
That is the view from Dr Earle's car after being crashed into by Tom P... I like the skull and cross bones. Not sure if that is still in the car (now owned by Rob Lay.) Robb
