I was watching an interesting biography on the origins of "Spring Break" in Florida. Started back in the early 60's and went all the way through the 80's. The name of the show was "Spring Broke".

They were talking with Ron Rice on how he built his "Hawaiian Tropics" empire by starting in his garage.

At one point they showed him rolling onto the beach in the now infamous Countach surrounded by women. LOL! I bet that was a sight to behold back in the day!

Check out the other videos in the Autopassion channel. There is also a Miura video that looks good, as well as other makes. I haven't had time to watch them yet tho...

@ 1:05 there is a JLA-prefix Downdraft having its Webers tuned in the factory courtyard with a Manometer by a well-known person, do you know who that is?

I wonder if it is the same car as the one seen in "Police des moeurs", a french film of the period.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SS7UwGD1x-4

In the end of the scene, a small sticker can be spotted on the back of the Countach, it looks very similar to the "JB automobiles" one that was affixed by the french importer in front of which this picture was taken.
On the other hand, not a lot of Countaches were built with this colour scheme.

For some reason this site does not allow me to cut and paste the URL to another Lamborghini site which had my complete write up.

    So, here it is:

I just replaced my old incandescent instrument bulbs with the LED units. WOW!!! Talk about a night and day difference!! When I drove the car at night, the instrument lighting was so faint, I couldn't read ANY of the gauges!!

Both photo's were made with the Rheostat turned all the way up. I used my Nikon D7000 on a tripod with remote so I could have a longer exposure that really showed the differences.

Thanks again to RomanDad for doing all the research and finding the correct bulbs that are literally "plug & play".

Here is the URL to the place RomanDad used. They are only $2.59 each. You will need 9 bulbs (1 each for volt, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp & Fuel level gauges and 2 each for the Tach and Speedo gauges). Also, you can replace the bulb for the little red light in the oil pressure gauge and the the light for the low fuel if you so desire which means you'll need 11 bulbs. I left those 2 alone since they were bright enough to see with the standard bulb.

    https://www.superbrightleds.com/products/led-products/198,2488,3313/

I went with "Cool White" and the 90 degree beam.

The rheostat still dims them all the way from "Retina peelers" all the way down to where they are so dim it reminds you of what it used to look like!!!! hahahahaha....

    Hi Mike,

I bought these thanks to your advice! Thanks a lot for sharing the knowledge, this is a plug and play job that is really worth it. The original equipment is nonsense.
    All the best,

The original equipment is also 30+ years old and is what there was at the time. As stated, easy upgrade and great result. I shall add this to my winter to do list.
