Funniest/Stupidest comments you have received about your Ferrari

This is not Ferrari related, but poor parenting related. I was at the EAA convention one year, a dad was putting his 2 kids, about ages 8 & 10 on the root of a wing on a homemade aircraft. The dad would then walk to the end of the wing and have the kids run the length of the wing and dad would catch them the kids jumped off the end!!! He did this about 3 times before anybody got close enough to talk to/stop him. The dad was totally surprised, befuddled and confused when other pilots read him the riot act and threatened to beat him to a pulp. He had no clue that he was doing anything wrong!!

I hope the guy found himself gaffer taped to the front of an out of control garbage truck some time after!

 

Wow, VIZSLA, there's a name from the past. All of a sudden I realized I hadn't read any posts from you in a long time. I know you used to be from my neck of the woods and moved to Sarasota. Occasionally you chimed in on the New England thread. I guess you've forsaken all your northern friends.

My grandma always said, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything. She'd have whupped' me if I had said such an impertinent thing. Besides, the little hellion is wrong.

I had my first "How much did it cost?" in 6 mos. of ownership. Wife & I were stopped at a red light. 3 young gents in a van pull up. Compliment the Cali. Then ask, how much did it cost" Using a line that I lifted from this thread, I rejoindered "Nothing. I stole it!". They were dumbfounded for a sec, and then we all shared a good laugh. Light turned green, we left them in the dust, so they could enjoy primo quality Ferrari exhaust sounds!

how on earth is a 328 - or any other Ferrari - mistaken for a mustang??? i'm not seeing any reason someone would make that mistake except that it's about the most generic answer they can think of.

 

I might have posted this before, not sure, but a few years ago at a public car show I saw a young family arrive, mom dad and a couple of kids. Just as they arrived at the barriers that had the street blocked off, the dad stopped, kneeled down to kid level, looked them in the eyes and told them 'we're going to go look at the cars now. Behave yourselves and don't touch anything. If I see you touching the cars we're leaving and going home.'

I made a point of catching that dad a few minutes later to say thank you. The kids were perfectly behaved from what I saw.

Bravo for that Dad and to you for complimenting him. The behavior of kids and their parents around our cars is why I rarely bring my Ferrari to the shows anymore.

 

I've said the same. I can only guess the logo uses a horse, a horse in a different pose completely but nonetheless a horse.
Oh and they do all look pretty good.

Irony for me is I bought a Ferrari because I wanted a Mustang. Oh yes. However it wasn't because I thought they looked similar, no my ex-wife did not like the idea of a Muscle car on the drive (or in the garage as it would have been) and no idea why, but I obeyed so she deterred me and I started looking at what else my hard work could have me. 308's were a little out of reach so I looked at a Mondial and here I am

 

A woman that encourages you to buy a Ferrari? ...and she's your "ex"? Gotta be more to the story, I'm sure.

Not about mustangs but an elderly woman at gas station insisted that my car was a Lamborghini. I told her no it's a Ferrari, she insisted and challenged if I was certain about my knowledge...
