+1 some real car wrecker kerbs then track limits may be respected
No penalty for Rosberg IMO - he was forced off. I was just repeating what Max said. Yes, I could see a penalty there for Max - he allowed no racing room for Nico AND made contact.
Officials should have made determination to let Vettel pass Vers. DURING the race. Why should Ricc be allowed to be ahead of Vers?
Sorry, but duel starts as soon as the lights go out. You can't not give a penalty to Hamilton braking too late but do give one to Verstappen, simply because they're on different laps!
He had to - Max had just hit him and was parallel to him on the racing line. If he tried to get back on track, Max would have hit him I'm sure. Race over.
I agree, but I'm just saying they have consistently let stuff go in the first corner of races and I think that's why they turned a blind eye. LH screwed up the corner trying to keep the field behind him...MV blew it trying to keep SV behind. The penalty should be consistent.
I wonder whether they considered the implications of the Nico vs Ves enquiry meant the stewards could not be certain who was the rightful 2nd place man. They could have put Lewis under enquiry until they had worked out that fracas and then given him a 10 second penalty. However, after Bernie's comments the stewards will be scared of doing anything that isn't an arse kiss for Elton......
Exactly. VES should have been required to give up the position, thus setting up a big fight between him and RIC. And what's with NBC telling everybody to watch the post race on line? Crap network.
Not really, VES punted Rosberg so Rosberg didn't have an option...Hamilton missed braking point and NAILED it once again, he had a massive lead by 1st sector. This is the same as handing out reprimands early on in the season, but once you're in a title fight, they often turn a blind eye to drivers on the verge of a penalty. It's dumb bias from the FIA.
On the plus side, what a wonderful crowd the Mexicans are. The boos Hamilton and Rosberg both received where quickly overshadowed by many cheers for both drivers (but even more for Vettel!)
He made a move to the outside and then moved back in onto the inside and into Ric. Watch the replay. I believe Ric brought it up as well in his post-race interview...
LOL - Max lecturing Vettel again in the post race interview. "He needs to go back to school to learn better language". "He's a very frustrated guy".
in my opinion, max didn't really help RIC. if he yeilded to SEB and again to RIC. RIC could possibly pass Seb cleanly.

Nah - he was straight...Ric went inside, he squeezed him, then left room after the apex. You can argue he shouldn't squeeze, but EVERYONE does that. You'll also notice that Ricciardo barely made the turn because he was locking up the whole way down.
He wasn't out to help Ric. He ignored the recommendation of his team to give the place up (he knew that both would've passed him if he gave the position), instead, he used logic and saw that Hamilton didn't get a penalty from his T1 corner cut....unfortunately the FIA is massively biased, and Verstappen got a penalty and Hamilton walked away scott-free.
Verstappen paid for not listening to his engineer telling him to give the place back after he missed a braking point and took a short cut. Instead of losing one place, the time penalty imposed by the stewards cost him 2 places. Max needs to give up his arrogant attitude and listen.
