Revealed: Why Hamilton escaped Mexican GP Turn 1 sanction FIA in a ''we are blind and ****ing stupid'' case. "In Verstappen’s case, the stewards decided that the Dutchman had only been able to retain his position by driving across the grass and rejoining the track – which is why he was given the five-second penalty that cost him a podium." That's exactly what happened to Hamilton as well!!!!!
Horner told Verstappen not to let Seb through anymore and asked instead for the fia to review the case in light of the missed penalty to Hamilton. So as usual it was all Lewis' fault.. If the Fia applied the rules as they were meant we would have likely had Ros-Ham-Vet on the podium in this order
What Vettel said "Foxtrot Oscar" is a bit more offensive than "va te faire foutre" in fact, but that's not the point. I think sometimes it's better to abandon all decorum and get the anger off your chest, whatever the consequences. For Vettel, it may even be worth enduring a one race suspension; I think he has a solid case.. Maybe the officials, not only Charlie Whitting, will realise that the way they administer F1 is not consistent and create resentment all around. Three teams were affected by wrong decisions yesterday: Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull. These teams spend a lot of money in the sport, only to see the officials ruining their effort by wobbly stewardship of the sport. I understand why Lauda, Arrivabene and Marko are aggrieved by the course of events at Mexico.
I am not really disgusted, I am depressed by the state of things: the sport, or circus, or whatever...is in pretty bad shape, if you ask me. Rgds
Agreed: some persons are used to swearing when driving and/or under stress; it may not be classy, it may even be embarassing, but you can't ask these guys not to vent their anger; that's too much of politically correct... Rgds
+1 I will continue to follow F1 because that's why I do for the last 55 years +, but I am increasingly cynical. F1 has become another form of poor quality entertainment and has stopped being a serious sport. I don't like the cars much, and I begin to sneer at the actors as well. For me, not many heroes will emerge from F1 in future; the 60s and 70s were my Golden Era.
+33 The lack of consistency is incredible. Hamilton's track position gain was massive by comparison. I'm just glad Max turned up for work, it was quite a dull race without him.
Lauda is accusing Verstappen of all sorts now, how dare he attempt to make an overtake at the start of the race etc. So just because he's out of the championship race, he shouldn't be allowed to try and get as high a position as possible? It's another story if Verstappen tried to unlap himself, but this wasn't the case. What a pathetic ''sport'' F1 has become.
Todt and whiting need to go ASAP. Hire the crew that run MotoGP as they have a clue what real racing is about.
To be honest, getting involved so early on in the fight between 2 title contenders when yourself are out of the title race is not really defensible either. Lauda is right to say that Vestappen' attack on Rosberg AT THE FIRST CORNER could have eliminated the German had it gone wrong, and determined the outcome of the championship.
He Max, didnt manage his speed and was bit too hot for the corner. Others do it but Niki has a point. No matter though - Rosberg did exactly what needed to do in Q3. It flies in the face of LH saying Nico is the same. Wrong. Rude and does not give credit where its due. Thats ok just mind games ala LH who is really not able to rattle Nico much this year.
Whiting is an imbecil...he is destroying the sport..he Bernie, Todt, what a bunch of ****ing dicks.....Drivers get infuriated, it's normal...don't wan't them to swaer..easy, just don't put them on the radio!! this is so, so stupid, make me wanna run them over!!
Yep Rosberg was gracious in defeat and didn't seem to bothered by it, either. Acknowledged LH had the edge. I hope he can win the race next week, win the title in style
That is the dumbest **** I've ever heard. Look at the gap coming into T1 between Hamilton and Rosberg, look at the gap after. He lifted because he was on grass...ROFL. He floored it when he got back to asphalt; and if this track had a proper design, his race would have been over as soon as he went off.
I wouldn't do it personally, but I don't have a problem with it. That's a big reason I'm critical of Nico apparently trying to finish 2nd in all the races now. It worked out for Nico yesterday, but easily could have gone the other way. You can't expect all the crazies to disappear just because you are the points leader.
Eddie Jordan reported Nico is being forced to run with his engines at 9/10 most of the time as he has way more miles in his than LH, which might explain the latest gaps
Even if Max didn't not give the position to Vettel because it wasn't officially announced by FIA at that point, , he should still get penalized regardlesss. Let's not forget that he was previously warned by FIA about his driving style. I believe the penalty to Vettel was completely unfair because his driving reaction to Ric was as a result of Max's actions.
Yep. Even with the Rosberg going off track that time loss was minimal (evidence clearly as Hulkenberg, who didn't have to move/lift whatever, was still behind Verstappen and Rosberg after T2. As soon as Hamilton knew he missed the corner, he nailed it for as long there was tarmac. The Stewards, Garry Connelly in any case, is deeply biased from the evidence I've seen.
I'm sorry but's that's ridiculous. Please elaborate what Verstappen did that negates a penalty for driving standards?
