It bothers me that it doesn't go all the way down into the door. :-(
If you have the door outside off and operate the window it does not look like their would be any more roomfor the mechanism to go down. You would have to redesign the whole system. Anything can be done but it can not be done the way it is now. The mechanics rest a few mm above the door bottom, the window glass is higher.
It can be done! - Just cut the top of the door glass off so that it sits below the top edge of the door! Of course, you'll then be left with the problem that there will be a big gap at the top of the window when it's fully up! If you want the window to go fully down into the door and still go fully up then you'll need to cut the door glass to drop below the door, and then perform a suitable roof-chop to get rid of the gap. It wouldn't be an easy project, but it could be done! (Hmm....... I wonder what a 348/355 would look like with a roof chop! )
Buy a challenge car and remove the glass... I know. Just kidding. It bothers me as well that the glass sticks up. Robb
simple solution.. don't leave your arm hanging out the window when driving... save it for your other car/cars..
^I'm interested in the answer to this as well. So...I guess the answer is yes, it does inhibit arm-hanging.
Don't state driving laws prohibit any body parts extending outside the car? There's a U$225 fine here.
I don't know, but I've lived in Missouri and Nebraska, and I have never heard of anyone being ticketed for such an offense.
Neither have I heard of anyone being ticketed here, but then not many people do it here. However, there is the intention of the law... i.e. To keep people safe, offer proper driving control and perhaps not to confuse old timers like myself who think that body parts protruding from a car are an indication of a turn
Nope never heard of tickets for body part out the car, I mean a persion on a motorcycle should be ticketed then.
So all of you have forgotten your standard hand signals? Left, right turn & stop??? :O Image Unavailable, Please Login
I grew up in Missouri, and consider my heart still there... It was commonplace to have some body-part hanging out the window. Driver's arm, dog's head (ears flappin'), or the rite of summertime --- the passenger-side moon shot.
Thanks for that reminder. I need the "right turn" one, as I don't think my 914's right rear turn signal works.
So on a nice summer day with the windows down none of you have ever put your elbow on the window sill while driving? Man I must be a freak!
I do but my left hand is straight up, resting on the top left corner of the windshield......spider style
And then cut the top off the windshield and the side and back glass so you can chop and lower the roof to fit the height of the window. Just like the Rat-Rods! Sounds like a good weekend project!
